Rock Lobster Bursting

Since i've worked up a nice 23M cashpile in disposable income, i've decided that i want to start bursting rock lobs to work towards 88 summoning.

I'm currently 80, and according to the calc I'll need around 7K crims(Actually, moreso around 5.5 - 6K since I'll be using my other charms too) making granite lobsters. I know you get roughly 250 crims per 1k bursts, but i kinda want to know how much this'll run my cost-wise and time-wise. With making the pouches included.

I have a set of battle robes that I'll be using. Of course, along with a SoL.

I've heard that +75 mage attack while bursting is the generally accepted bonus, and over that can be overkill. Is this accurate?

Oh, and one last thing. I heard that the Waterbirth doors were updated so that not just 1 person can knock down the doors with a rune throwing axe anymore. Is this true?

Before, you used to be able to just run through the giant rock crab door, use the rune throwing axe spec and destroy all 3.

Now, with 2 people, first both of you run and open the giant rock crab door. Then both of you quickly run down to the dagg door, open that one. One of you runs back to the giant rock crab door and runs through it while the other runs through the dagg. Then only 1 person needs to range (As George says, only range works. Think I saw one person mage it so I assumed it work; apparently not) the other person's door and the other can just hit it with melee/anything.

That felt like a long explanation for something simple lol.

Not sure about your other questions, sorry.

I believe the saying is "once you go yak, you never go back."

On topic: But yep, with battle robes I manage to get an 100+ mage bonus and almost never splash on the rock lobsters. You will be able to stay down there for hours, it's a good setup. I can suggest two things, I bring veracs top, bottom and a got miter. This lets me lure quite well as tanking hits, even with pray, makes battle robes degrade faster. I also, and I know it cuts down on my charms/h, I just do, bring a melee weapon to take out melee dagganoths that you might accidentally get on you.

My setup:

Battle robe hood

Arcane stream (fury is just as good here, arcane stream bonus doesn't work on multiple targets, not sure about this)

Battle robe top

Battle robe bottom

Infinity boots

Soul wars cape

Staff of Light

Unholy Book

Then in my inventory:

Teleport (one click)

Blood Runes

Death Runes

Chaos Rune

Water Runes

Blue charm placeholder

Crimson charm placeholder

Veracs top

Veracs Bottom

Miter

SGS

Gem bag

Rune thrownaxe x1 (for getting in)

Food x1(drop this when you get down if you haven't used it, I just bring it to top off before I start bursting)

P Pots x15

Oh and those spa pools are really great for getting down, if you carry the veracs you won't be able to run all the way so I highly recommend them.

Also good luck getting prayer potions, they are bought out. Perhaps bring a holy wrench and fally 3/4 to help cut down on pot usage. normally I wouldn't recommend it but this buyout sucks.

Oh, and an SGS pretty much will make it so that you can stay until your robes degrade. It's a worthwhile investment if you have cash laying around and think you can resell it. Or even just if you can get a loan form a friend, it really makes a difference, it's expensive but nice for camping.

On the flip side, if you don't have enough cash, tome of frost will save you something like 7 million bursting from 88-96 summoning.

If you have any more questions PM me, I'm currently bursting to 96 summoning in increments and I hope that I can answer any questions you have

PM me in game anytime

It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet.

That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying.

The annoying thing about battle robes is that you need to take them off for luring, or they'll degrade. So yeah, you got to bring proselyte/monk's robes and a mitre for luring, which isn't ideal because of the weight and space. Then again, 15 ppots + sgs lasts for a very long time and it's extremely boring, so yeah.

It's worth it to take off your mage robes anyway and switch to prossy. Only 2 ppoints per lure would be required, on average, if you switch to full prossy or prossy + neitiz.

I know it's worth it, I just don't like to switch to inferior prayer items. I use the 4 highest items I own (sw cape, stole, pros plate and fala 3) but if I used battle robes I'd have to bring 2 more items or have less pray bonus.

It may be worth mentioning that the robes are hardly efficient at decent incomes, especially with bursting.
