Dungeoneering Training

Currently Planning to go from 58-85 dung, which will get me the 260k tokens I need as well as frosts. When I do smalls in a team 4 people or 5 people the floor xp should remain the same right? or do you get teh 4:4 or 5:5 bonus and the higher floor xp? Also does prestige xp increase with floor xp?

What floors should I start doing larges. RIght now I solo c1 small rush floors 1 to (my level-~10) Then I team 5 people small c6 for my highest floors, getting roughly 5k xp each time. When should I start doing larges as I can get up to 20k xp an hour in at a time, which is pretty good for my level compared to what I used to get.

One last thing. earlier today I was doing the higher floors and I did some floors which I had not done since reseting but I got 0 prestige xp. Is there a glitch or something as I am 100% certain they were marked as not cleared.

Thanks,

Sailor89/SacredFlam3s

PS: Also if someone could give me the link to a frost dragon guide without ext/turmoil that would be great :) I have a yak though.

I am currently carrying a friend through DG, (he is level 47 atm) we are doing 2:1 mediums (or smalls for the lower floors) and just starting to get around 20-30k xp an hour.

For you're scenario, if you manage to find a team of 5 people, you should do your last couple of floors 5:5 Large if you can.

If you are only going to do smalls, you might be better off just duoing at 2:1 difficulty until the last couple where you could find a group for Larges. The only thing is, if you are finding people that are doing these floors as well at 5;5 difficulty, they willl probably be inexperienced and very slow/die etc. So that's why I think most wait until 60+ to start looking for 5:5 Large groups (As your higher floors available to you overlap with the 70 or so dg'ers that do their lower range of floors on large.

Someone with infinitely more DG experience can probably advise you better, however I'm pretty certain 5 man smalls shouldn't be used at your higher floors.

One last tip - make sure to open all resource dungeons for the XP they give, as opening an extra floor earlier will give you more XP next time you reset.

As for frost dragons - you have the most important part (a Yak), I would recommend ranging with a cannon, then not having turmoil is irrelevant and extremes/supers is not so bad as the cannon does most of the work. (Also you only have 88 range so this is a good way to train it)

What Vex said, cannon and range them frosties. You can't use a handcannon so use a rune crossbow with rune bolts, or perhaps Karil's with sw cape.

More the fact they have 75 firemaking.

You don't need super antifires at frosts as you will be protecting from magic 100% of the time, this combined with a normal antifire is 100% damage mitigation

OP doesn't have super antifires.

That may be true, but Antifire potions + Pro Mage = 100% fire damage protection.

Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? You are beyond ridiculous.

As Vex mentioned, I was referring to his firemaking level. Even at 99 fm you'll blow 1-2 cannons per hour, which obviously isn't worth it.

I was ranging forst drags in arma, sighted magic long bow and dwarf cannon back in time (85+ herblore needed for superantifire pots)

Void has been proven to be better though, and you still don't need superantifires.

By the way, if you want to semi-afk these, use a regular antifire shield (no range penalty) and prot mage. All you have to do is drink ppots and bank bones, autoretaliate can do the rest. You'll lose a lot of kills/hr of course, but you can still make nice money & range xp.

Thanks for the replies :) If anyone could give more input on the training dungeoneering that would be great.

I am also looking to train range when i get back from a no combat break of skilling+dung so that helps.

Another question: method and cost of 99 cooking? Just looking to get fast total levels and another cape cant be bad.

Rocktail for 90+ and that profits, I think. For the rest, monkfish then shark or so. Wines are a lot faster and cost more.

Not sure what the skill requirements are off the top of my head, but make sure you unlock access to the bank in the cook's guild if you want to cook. This allows you to do shark/cavefish at lvl 90 or so (with gloves) with minimal burn allowing you to have an extra 100k xp an hr or so.
