That_Brown_Kid
Hey guys, I am 3,701,482 xp away from 88 summoning. Having soloed rex for a bit, I have realized the level of ownage that a unicorn can provide... So now, of course, I WANTZ IT. The question is... HOW MUCH!??!?! I will be barraging (maybe in battle robes if I can acquire them!) Using SoL, but no tome of frost/arc stream because my dung level sucks. What is the estimated cost? It's around 11500 crimsons from 69-88. I will be using all charms though, so I'm guessing it'll be like 9000 crimsons? correct me if im wrong! With the cost of 2nds, shards (should i swap pouches for shards?), and charms, what will my grand total be? I have 55m to work with.
Georgelemmons
I don't really want to do this for you, but this can help: http://users.telenet.be/glodenox/Charms/CharmPattern.html Losing arcane stream isn't a big deal anyway since it only affects 1 out of 9 hits. I actually don't know the number of crimsons per barrage, since I've been bursting like a poor nub. Sorry. Thanks to Uno for the awsome sig <
Vex
370 per 1000 Barrage, 500 Casts/hr Crim = 370 Gold = 135Green = 92Blue = 15 Approximations, but from this, you will gain 35% of your total crimsons in gold, another 25% in greens and 5% in blues http://www.[Caution! That_Brown_Kid
If I use 28-30m to barrage, I'll end up with these values: = 4700 crim= 1714 gold= 1168 green= 191 blues? (the 800 blue with 8600 crim estimate was from someone in burstinglobs cc) that only gets me to 82 summoning. But if i use battle robes w/ SOL, i suppose I'd double the yield of charms, correct? =9400 crim= 3428 gold= 2336 green= 382 blues = 89 SummoningThis leaves me with 27-29m to spend on seconds/shards? (should i trade in pouches for shards or sell them?)I doubt 27-29m will be enough to absorb the loss of shards as well as seconds... This leaves me with a bank consisting of 3 tinderboxes and a rune hatchet, but I'll still be able to charge glories from a bank. Anyways, do these estimates seem correct? Battle robes will pretty much double my charm gain. How long do these robes last, how long do 350 fog tokens take, and how much is the street value of these hawt clothes? (also, tome of frost will cut down my barrage cost. im 49 dungeoneering atm, 64 is required to get the tokens. How long for 49-64? hah) There are a lot of "How long... How much..." questions. sorry if im annoying you. I think I don't have enough gp for this goal. Would you say I'm off by 5-10m or more?
PereGrin
Ok, I can help you out with the battle robes question. I have a spare hood and bottom if you want to buy for trade price. I too have been bursting rock lobs for charms. One thing you might think about if you are strapped for cash. Bursting is about 1/2 the cost of barraging. You get slower charms, but it also costs less which is nice if you are poorer, or if you have a fail magic level like I do and cant barrage lol. Also, its 275 tokens to recharge Battle robes. 150 for top, 100 for legs, 25 for hood. It did fog for about 3 hours last night, and got enough for 2 recharges. That was in members FOG, and I didn't lose a single game. The street value of B robes is around 5-6mil a set atm. Like I said, I managed to snipe a bottoms and hood from ge after about 2 days (hood took 15 mins, bottoms took 2 days). Then I found someone via RSOF who sold me the full set for 3.2mil cash. If you want, I will sell you trade price the extra bottoms and hood I have. PM me in game, name is Pere Grin. EDIT: hahaha I remember you from burstinglobs cc today. I think I was a DP for you and 2 other guys on world 144. More will follow on what supplies you need and how much they cost. [hide=summoning stuff]I worked off rough assumptions of the charms you might have already and might be going to get.Needed:5k gold3k green6.7k crimson800 blue Make 5k barker toads. ~400*5000 = 2mil Make 3k fruit bats. Bananas are dirt cheap. Make 3700 granite lobsters. Should cost about 1mil if you buy the tiny pieces. (500g) Make 800 lava titans. Great xp, kill tzhaar for tokkul and collect the charms. Doesn't really take that long. Make 3k swamp titans. Lizards should cost 5.2mil or so. Shards Needed: 170k shards = 42mil. Swap at Ogre guy and get 70% back. Net shard loss: 12.5mil (503k shards lost, rest swapped back and resold to pet shop owner) Total loss: 22mil approx, if you count bananas as well.[/hide]
That_Brown_Kid
Yeah! I called you the "ambulance" because your repaired like 4 graves within a short time haha. respect. yes i've been advised by another person that barraging is like 2.4x more expensive and 20% faster charms-wise. Bursting is the way to go apparently. So I'm sure with bursting and battle robes I'll be able to pull off 88 summoning with 55m?(i didnt factor in the prayer potions required for the lob trips) I suppose I'll get back to farming to get the cash to cover this expense. Yeah, that was alot of graves. My total count was 5 in about an hour b4 I left to get my untrimmed hp. 3 graves were back to back to back lol. I edited my post to include charms needed approx, and total costs.

Georgelemmons
Just a follow-up: bursting is really more efficient, and battle robes aren't hard to buy on ge at max if you can stand waiting a few days. Battle robes have been lasting me around 3.5k bursts. All I can say is BRING A ROL unless you're very confident. It's repetitive and any mistake luring will get you owned. Since lobsters have such low maxes though, it's unlikely you'll get koed unless you go into a lure with low health. Wallasakis and dagganoths max in the upper 200s with mage and range, so do be careful  Thanks to Uno for the awsome sig <
Quyneax
Actually bursting w/ battle robes is probably not more efficient than waterfiends. You can get, say, 100 charms/hr @ ancient cavern. You can get 150 bursting, plus time to charge the robes, plus cost of the runes (whereas wfs slightly profit).
