A question about overloads: i heard you still loose stats when you drink a sara brew, and the stats go back to the maxed ovl lvl after 15 secs. I thought the purpose of overload was avoidding getting your stats lowered? Because if i still have to drink a super restore after brewing each time, seems it sucks....unless 15 secs of waiting while having your extreme stats lowered to super stats is still very good? Assuming a 90 defense (eventually increasing since im getting exp)/99magic with void, and using both extremes/piety, a bunyip will be enough for wfs? Cause my inventory is kinda heavy loaded with potions, so until i get unicorn, i'm a bit worried. And should i be praying range all the time, or just in less than half health situations? Need around 80 hours to get unicorn, which will finally make this food problem worthless and the need for protect range unnecessary (right?) Obtaurian Posted January 19, 2011 Share Posted January 19, 2011 If you make sure to drink a brew just before the 15 second restore, you'll only have super-potted stats for a couple seconds. Overloads are very worth it. Yes, you'll be fine at waterfiends. With a bunyip, you'll probably want to pray ranged all the time unless you have an EEE, but try it out and see how you fare. Taking into account that most bosses (I'm assuming you're talking about MH-ing) have a spawn time that is slower than 15 seconds you can safely pot up and re-gain your full bonuses before you have any trouble. Quyneax Posted January 19, 2011 Share Posted January 19, 2011 I use overloads at wfs (with EEE, great fun) and I get around 10 crimson charms/dose @ ancient cavern. That's with void, turmoil, ss, berserker (i) and sw cape. If you don't have soul split, overloads may be too risky, but I don't think extremes + piety makes much of a difference (piety has 5% more attack and 6% less defence on wfs compared to turmoil).
