Everyday armor

So I did originally plan on buying Bcp and the tassets for 37m or so, but that seemed a bit pricy and after going over the stats didn't seem much better than Barrows except it's strength bonus. So I'm thinking that maybe Guthans armor with dragon boots and a dfs would be better? And I'd still have alot of money left over. Would that be sufficient basic armor for just everyday training/slayer tasks?

Guthan's platebody + Verac's skirt for ordinary melee. Proselyte when heavily praying, torso when you don't need defence. Generally torso > prossy but you may not want to get one.

Depends what your levels are/what tasks you do.

Alot of people consider barrows overkill, which is part of the reason they use bandos (and the str bonus ofc)

My setup (for general melee monsters)...

Full slayer helm

Fury

Guthan's plate (could use Dharok or Torag, same bonuses - guthans was cheaper when i bought it)

Verac's skirt (could use dharok or torag, but i like the added prayer bonus)

Dragon boots

Dragon defender

Whip

SW cape

+ Bunyip

For mage-ish monsters (bloodvelds, sceptres, aquanites) i would use karils.

Not sure what your levels are though, chaotic weapon would be better, and unicorn if you're 88 summoning. Guthan's is trash so don't waste your money on that.

Fighters torso? Yeah I have that. So I think I'm going to spend the 3m on the full Guthans set, get the verac skirt, and buy the DFS. Is that pretty decent?

Use Johannas' setup with a torso. Pray piety whenever meleeing. Don't get Guthan's. You can use Karil's on monsters that mage, but it's really more convenient to just cannon the important mage monsters (abberant spectres and bloodvelds) with protect from magic and melee respectively. You only need to kill these on task, off task crawlers and black dragons are probably better.

Off task use a helmet of Neitiznot.
