tttia
Didnt see it mentioned in a search here, so figured I would post this. Right Hemisphere released a pretty decent free version of their painting program. http://www.download.com/Deep-Paint/3640 ... 2&sb=0&v=0 It works as a stand-alone application or as a PS plug-in. Alduron
Thanks for shareing this info. I don't have time right now to download it and check it out, but will give it a shot later today. It sure sounds like a very nice prog...layer capability, tons of brushes and the ability to make your own... Have you tried it out Tttia? Any personal reviews? ~Alduron
Keiphus
I didn't know you were still around here tttia!
tttia
Oh, I pop in now and again. I had been doing some other things lately. As to personal reviews...it's main feature is the texture it gives to the medium. Painter can do that too, and is more polished overall, but I think this is a pretty good program. And painter gets needlessly complex and backwards at times. This program doesn't do everything I would like, but what it does it does well, and pretty simply. And integration with ps is nice for those who use it.
DementedHero
Nice to see both of you lurking around here :P The link seems dead for me, probably because of the fact its shortened, it doesn't display the full link.. I recently bought painter, along with a tablet, and it works great for me, its quite realistic.

venomai
Hey, while we're all here discussing digital painting programs.. Does anyone want to shed some light on Open Canvas? Is it any good?
tttia
The free first version is not high powered, but it is great for two features. First, it can do event files. It allows you to save a file that you can then send to someone and they can see your work in low or high speed from the first. Very helpful for learning. There are tons of event files out there to learn from. Second, it can do networked painting. You can connect to someone and paint on the same canvass for fun speed events, etc. The watercolor tools in it are widely regarded as best, though the pencil tool is good for quick sketches. Later versions have more features, but the free one is great for social painting :)
venomai
Oh. There is a version that is fully functional and free? I could only find the 30-day trial.. Those things you mentioned sound fantastic! Networked sketching :o woah!
tttia
Sure is! here is a link to it, I have it hosted at the moment. Open canvas two and three are pay ones, but one is free. 440 k for the whole thing zipped, and runs independently, no registry entries or anything. I love it when programs do that. http://ankite.homestead.com/files/oc.zip here is a fishy event file I did in it so you can test them. http://ankite.homestead.com/files/fishy.wpe just download it. Open oc, go to FILE............IMPORT EVENT FILE ....find the file and load it up. Or open it from current location , it might already be associated...just click the file and it will go. To watch it with faster play back go to: SHOW ........EVENT PLAYING WITH WEIGHT....and uncheck it.
