Godsword or not to godsword? & Dg rewards

Are godswords still worth investing in weapon wise these days for a non-pker?

Or am I better off saving my cash for better armours, better skills etc and getting chaotic stuff instead?

Right I'm beigning to hit the point where I can start grabbing dg rewards and I have a few queries.

 

I'm gonna get all the obviously handy ones (gem bag, coal bag, bonecrusher, herbicide, tome of frost, arcane stream, the 3 scrolls, the 3 prayers, surgebox & anti-poison)

Aside from that I have a few questions:

1) Ring of vigour worth it or not for a non pker? (and for what uses)

2) The prayer necklaces any good for prayer tasks? (I'm thinking +13 prayer combined with prayer recharge via bonecrusher while in normal gear might be handy on some slayer tasks?)

3) The shields worth it or not really?

4) Chaotic staff n crossbow; worth it or not?

5) Chaotic melee gear for general usage is cls or crapier better? and is it worth having all 3 for various boss monsters?

6) Mercernary gloves, seem to be best range bonus glvoes in-game, worth it?

7) Spirit cape, I'm still not entirely sure how this works but I heard it has some sues, so again worth it?

BGS is the best non-degradable Corp spec weapon. ZGS a handy spec weapon for Castle Wars. Besides those small niche uses, godswords are entirely outclassed by cheaper alternatives.

No, Godswords are worthless besides the reasons green mentioned. The dg rewards you listed should be prioritized a little better. Getting a bonecrusher before a chaotic rapier is just silly. Generally the only things you should buy before a chaotic rapier are the scroll of life and debateably the scroll of cleansing/acrstream. To your questions...

 

1. Ring of vigour is worth it only if you don't have a berserker ring and have the above mentioned items and a surplus of tokens. Combined with an eee for healing and spec restores is a common use.

 

2. Prayer necklaces are not worth it.

 

3. Sheilds are worth it after getting a c rapier, c maul, ccbow, arcstream, scroll of life/cleansing if you can't afford a divine/elysian.

 

4. Ccbow worth it for TDs and if you do a lot of arma. Also its good at frost dragons. Chaotic staff is mainly for pking.

 

5. C rapier is better for everything compared to cls with the exception of (debateably) solo bandos/sara with a divine. C rapier or a c maul will be a cls anywhere so get those two and not a cls.

 

6. No, rfd gloves are only 1 less and there's plenty of other rewards to get first.

 

7. I've heard its decent for steel titaning and using your pony to heal. But generally not worth losing the bonuses from a sw cape/fire cape/ardy cape. Low low priority unless you're a summoning pure.

No Godswords are obsolete for the non-pker and therefore pointless for you to get one really. The only place where you'd possibly need a GS now is as mentioned - Bandos for speccing Corp.

It's debateable. Some slayer tasks may well be fairly decent - some you cannon like bloodvelds may be a little nice? I'm not too sure.

Yes they are once you have everything else.

Cbow for some bosses and TD's.

This again is another point of debate - but to sum up millions of pages of discussion - CR = Whip on stroids, CLS = Vestas on Anti-depressants. And Quyneax has often told me that I should only buy a CLS if I have a Div or Ely.

My apologies, I read your list of things to buy as the order you wanted to buy them. Also to add to my other post, if you have the rank for berserker (i) ring you shouldn't get a vigour.

Nah I just put in brackets the lsit of "obviously useful" ones I am buying but have no questions on.

Hmm I'll stick with the ma rings, been working on tht bit by bit getting rank up so shuld get all the gd rings soon-ish

I would like to add that augury is very much useless unless you do mage-something hybriding on prayers. In which case I'd still work on 95 prayer instead of dungeoneering.

I know the prayers may not all be useful but im a bit of a completeionist so I want them all unlocked.
