I've been trying to figure out what would be the best next chaotic for me. I have it split between the Maul and Crossbow, but am having a difficult time figuring out which would see more use.

 

Bosses I do currently: DKS (solo 2.5 brid/tribrid), Bandos (team), Sara (team)

Bosses I am looking to become efficient at in the future: Arma (solo and team), TDS, Possibly Nex.

 

1. With DKS I'm not sure if the C-Xbow will outclass Karils, does it?

2. Does the Maul outclass the Rapier at any of these?

3. Assuming I go to DKS, Bandos (team), Arma (solo), and TDS twice as much as Sara (team), Arma (team) and eight times as much as Nex, which chaotic do you think would be of more use?

 

If it makes a difference assume max gear (minus deflector for range), no Spirit Shield, Turmoil, Rigour and use of Extremes/overloads where necessary.

Rapier covers most, if not all melee scenarios. Get the cbow to cover range, then get the Maul 3rd as a little boost to melee. It's what I'm doing :P

I'm getting a CLS 4th if I ever get Divy/ely, for solo bandos, but that's a whole nother story.

i wouldn't use CCBow at TD's, because karils crossbow/handcannon are so much better there.

CCbow is great for arma and nex.

I wouldnt use maul at DKs

Karils should be faster kills, but ccbow would be (SLIGHTLY) longer range and puts you at marginally less risk (crossbows are still pretty short range though)

I've heard of people that use magic longbow(s) or other longrange weapons for this reason.

 

I hear maul is good at bandos and sara, never done those though.

And I prefer maul over rapier at TD's

Anybody have experience with a maul at Bandos or Sara (both in teams)?

maul is the best chaotic at saradomin

Maul is good for anti-crashing at bandos because if you're only getting one hit off (which is very common if both teams are good), you want the best hit you can get. Otherwise rapier is better.

Already had rigour. Ended up getting a maul anyways, ccbow next.
