Hitting through teleports?

On two seperate occassions it would seem that I have been hit through my teleports, resulting in my death.

Once at Kalphite Queen (Who seems to be a lot tougher than she used to) who managed to combo me through my teleport, resulting in a humiliating death at the Camelot teleport spot.

Just now had a similar situation at Tormented Demons where I was hit teleporting to Lumbridge when it appeared I was combo'd at that teleport spot.

It doesn't seem to be my connection, my ping was relatively low in those worlds, ~38. I'm running on low detail, wireless 54mbs connection if that helps any.

So have they changed the way teleports work because before it seemed to be relatively safe teleporting out, even while under fire or am I just the victim of my own carelessness?

It's seems like it depends on WHEN you teleport.

For example, in Dungeoneering, sometimes when I Group Gatestone teleport out of a dangerous room, I still get hit by an attack. Other times, I don't, even though I can visibly see the attack hitting me. Maybe it just hit for a 0, but there was no blue shield so...

Yeah nothing concrete here, but just some observations from my experience.

In dungeoneering, it's different. A personal gatestone teleport will cancel all damage, while group gatestone teleport only seems to cancel certain types of damage if the group gatestone is within a certain radius of your character. The group gatestone is unreliable, so the best way to be safe from death is to always have your personal gatestone in a safe room at all times, as you will never take damage after teleporting to it.

In overworld runescape, any attacks launched before you teleported still hit. It's always been this way. If I have to house tab out of a place for fear of death, I probably die in my house about 30% of the time (I really don't like teleporting before killing something).

Yeah dg was covered well abive.

As for surface its pretty basic:

If they attack has started it will finish.

So as soon as the animation starts for them to attack you WILL be hit even if you teled out.

This is why when emergancy teleing you always telle jsut as u get hit, before they start an attack.

btw use house teleports that way you don't lose items that vanish on death also saves money on barrows repairs

+1. No detriment to dying in your house, so you won't care that you get hit post-teleport.

I'll add my support for always using Teleport to House tablets in the overworld. It's by far the best one-click teleport you can have. I'd say everyone should use them, but that would make them more expensive to me icon_e_wink.gif

it depends on the type of teleport used.

Gatestone teleport will always negate damage.

Group Gatestone teleport will negate damage if you teleport to a new location that is a certain distance from you previous location.

Overworld runescape teleports works differently from that as well.

It's case by case. Jagex isn't known for being consistent in their coding. Each teleport might have slightly different properties from another teleport.
