Bromswell
I've been hanging around these forums for a while now and I figure that since I just got 1000 total levels, now would be a good time to join. So what should I work on now and how? What are some good ways to make money at my stats, or close to them? Pretty much any general advice would help. Thanks, Bromswell
Misfortune
I would work on getting you strength level up, and mine for money. Once you are higher combat the possibilities become endless, but as for now stick with mining, fishing, and hunter for money!
madden05pro1
Keep slaying, it will level up your combat, provide a nice collection of charms, and eventually lead to some nice profits
Deer
Going with what Misfortune said, you should do some hunter to make a bit of money, they maybe you could buy some arrows with the money you make and train that as well! You should try going for a goal for all your skills such as getting them all 40+ or 50+, its a nice longterm goal. Goodluck! :)
Misfortune
If you are looking to train range, go range some barbarians in the northern building or barbarian village! This will provide quick experience at your level!

Sinkhan
Farm farm farm. Do the quests that give you xp and just keep farming. It's probably one of the most consistent and rewarding sources of income, while also requiring the least the amount of effort, bar merchanting. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug

Bromswell
Thank you everyone for your replies. I plan on leveling up strength through slayer after I do Lost City and getting my range up around 40 too. How can I make money from hunter and farming? is that only if I get them up a lot? Thanks again!

Sir_Squab
Farming is good money once you get to whatever level toads are, last I checked. Really, probably all herb patches make a profit, come to think of it. Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.[spoiler=The rest of my sig. Bromswell
Get to the point where you can catch chins and red chins and you will start banking :) Any suggestions on how to get there? From my experience, hunter is pretty slow to train.
LitterBug
Farming is good money once you get to whatever level toads are, last I checked. Really, probably all herb patches make a profit, come to think of it. Actually - ranaars = amazing experienceBut yes, farming is one of the best ways to make money. There's a huge difference between making money and skilling. Yes, all hunter makes money but so do all fishing/wc/mining/etcAny gathering skill would make money but some are more efficient at it then others. Becoming a member - I know I marked down a few quests that I knew I had to do once I got the chance. They included:-All the ones required for MTK and the helm of neitznot-All the Fairy Tale Quests I, II and III - unlocks a few pretty nice farming gears-Any thing that unlocks transportation methods This includes everything that is a teleport, the balloon traveling option, gnome gliders, eagle, etc Try to quest as much as you can - it'll just make things a little bit easier.Try to get tears of guthix as soon as you can. However, MTK definitely 200% remains your absolute number one priority especially at your level.A mil - 2 a week is nothing to scoff at.
LitterBug
Get to the point where you can catch chins and red chins and you will start banking :) Any suggestions on how to get there? From my experience, hunter is pretty slow to train. Honestly, hunter is a terrible skill to train to make money with.Red Chins are absolutely HORRIBLE for money making. Aside from the hundreds of thousands of bots (they're pretty much always infested with bots - or you have to look at sub optimal catching locations/crash a bot by stealing his box traps and laying down yours right before he lays down his), red chins don't make that much anymore. ^I'm speaking from personal experience. They look amazing on paper - until you actually go and try to catch them, it's terrible. On top of that - after you crash botters, some other botters are just as liekly to just come to you and set up the bot - hoping that their bot will crash you. Just as an estimate - out of the >100 people I've seen at red chins, I doubt more then 10% are legitimately playing. Honestly - having been there, the only importance of hunter is for herblore habitat. You start making some amazing potions that will seriously impact how much you money you can make
ruben1026
agreed with bug hunter sucks for cash. Just do slayer you will start getting a decent profit from it soon enough.
Bromswell
Thank you for all your advice Litterbug, very helpful. So farming and MTK for money? How do you farm ranarrs, do you wait by them and make sure they're not diseased or do you just accept that you're going to lose some?

Err since you're at a low level (farming wise) just plant whatever you can and just leave - do whatever you want and come back in 75 - 90 minutes (it's unusal that you come back exactly after 75 minutes and the herbs are done growing). At first you'll be losing a ton of herbs due to deaths but once you get that super compost (watermelons are a great way to get it). You can also buy pineapples in catherby and I'm suree there are better ways to get supercompost
Tainaith
As said above, gaining access to important features through quests is vital to a successful member's venture. (I recommend looking over the quest guides) Going a little further in detail: Manage Thy Kingdom You'll need to do Hero's Quest (requires quite a few quests) and The Fremennik Trials (no quest requirements). Skills you'll need to get to complete these quests (and their prerequisites): 53 Fishing53 Cooking40 Agility You will need to complete both The Throne of Miscellania and Royal Trouble to maximize your profits from MTK! Additional Notes: I recommend completing Lost City (a requirement for Hero's quest) regardless, as you also need it to begin the Fairy Tale series that gives access to Fairy Rings, Farming equipment, etc. ---------------------- Fairy Tale Pt. I, II, III This requires Lost City and Nature Spirit. (Nature Spirit will also help start a lot of other quests, and open a great money-maker for your level!) You will have to beat a lvl 111 monster, but it should not be too much trouble, just develop your combat stats a little bit first, for safety. Completing Part I will also give a nice bit of Farming exp to help start it off, as well as give other exp and give a nice farming item (Magic Secateurs). Completing at least the beginning of Part II will open up the Fairy Ring Transportation system, a widespread and very useful way to get around. You also currently have all the requirements to complete the prerequisites and part I + II. Additional notes: You do not need the prerequisites in the skills to begin Part II, you only need part I done!----------------------- So, these are just two quests to look at. If you want help with finding more, feel free to PM me. These quests, and others, can give you some goals to shoot for. Take your time, and mix things up a bit if you're feeling bored! As for Farming, your options are pretty limited right now. Stick to the highest herb you can plant, and anything else you can do until you reach 32 farming for Ranarrs. If you manage to get the Magic Secateurs, your general profit will be better! Fishing has gone down in it's money-making ability considerably, but it can be a leisurely way to earn some spare gold while you wait on your herbs to grow (although they still grow if you choose to take a break). Once you can begin using MTK, do so as soon as possible! You can follow a simple guide to learn how to start it, or you can ask for help! For working on Combat stats, stick to slayer for sure! It will pay off in the long run in so many ways, and it helps change up the kinds of monsters you fight. (make sure you keep those charms!) ----------------------- Sorry for the lengthy post, if you have any questions or need help, I encourage you to ask, or add me in-game. Good luck to you!
