So 96 summoning is my next goal, I hear Jagex are fixing rock lobs next week. So is this the best option for me to gather charms? Is cannoning black demons better?

 

If im doing black demons shall i stock up on infernal urns?

 

Does black demons require effigy drops to be better than lobs? (i suck at getting these)

 

I currently have 1.2k greens 1577 crims 57 blue 6.7k golds are the golds worth making? or would i be better gathering more crims/greens/blues?

 

I have around 40m to work with leaving me enough left to flip with. Will this be enough for both gathering charms and getting 96?

 

A ton of questions i know.

Hello everyone,

 

Thanks for pointing this out. There was a slight discrepancy with the charm drops which meant that the old drop rates had gone walkabouts for Hellhounds and Rock Lobsters. We are fixing this now and the old rates should be re-introduced with the next update.

Just do rock lobs, combine with waterfiends and black demons. Will lessen the cost by a bit and changes up the scenery to prevent boredom.

While you're at it go ahead and level up all your skills to open all your own effigies and finish all quests first. Then seeing as you want 96 summoning right now, go ahead and get that. Makes sense.

 

OT: just do black demons with cannon or waterfiends until lobs are fixed.

Cannoning black demons is great because of effigies. If you don't open them yourself you lose out on a lot of xp. Assuming you want to max out someday and you open your effigies with stats below 99, an hour of black demons is about half an hour of barraging rock lobsters charm-wise + 2/3rds of an effigy worth over an hour of skilling (Zarfot calculated effigies to be worth 96 minutes each however that was before urns & assuming a maxed character). So it rather depends on what you want to get, skill xp and summoning xp or just summoning xp.

 

Barraging can train your magic & defence to 99 while black demons would train your ranged which is already 99, so barraging probably is the way to go.

 

For effigies you'd need to train your farming to 93 (as you already have 99 fishing), firemaking to 92 (again, you have 99 cooking), woodcutting to 92 (99 fletching), crafting or agility and thieving or construction and smithing or mining to 92, herblore to 92 or hunter to 89, and summoning to 97.
