infernal urns

Hi there,

I'm wondering: I'm on a nech task, and I'm going to chin them in the chaos tunnels..

However I notice they drop quite a bit of pray xp nowadays: is it worth to use "infernal urns" there? - And if so, how would I get those (and how many would I need for 140 nechs?)

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Yes it is definitely worth using them. Making them is the same as any other pottery except they require 2 soft clay per urn. You then need to add an air rune to the infernal urns to activate them. Each urn holds 25 infernal ashes.

You could always buy them off the G.E.

I think most of the urn sell at below their mid prices. You just have to activate them is all

Well got 20 of them for 100 gp each.. that's indeed a "bit" below mid (mid is 600-something)..

If you bank 40 ashes a trip that is 240k per trip that you earn just for spending 3 minutes banking, or 4.8m per hour

that assumes that you have a kill rate of infinity

how can you justify 4.8 m an hour if youre banking if you don't even take into account the time needed to kill the nechreyals to even get the ashes?

Because I'm comparing the opprotunity loss of the time spent banking with the gain of the money from banking. In the 3 minutes you spend banking, you make 4.8m per hour more than if you did not bank.

That's a fairly one sided comparison then.

On one hand - we have: banking ashes

On the other hand - we have: nothing

You're not accounting for exp for range/slayer/prayer gained or the profits that you may or may not get.

In addition - you're assuming each bank only takes 3 minutes. In many cases - it's inevitably going to take longer then 3 minutes.

Also, you have to take into consideration that if you have urns - you can just blast away.

However, picking up the ashes take time too. I wouldn't be surprised if your estimate of 3 minutes actually came out to be closer to 6-8 minutes.

With a task of about 200 nechryals - your slayer tasks would take an additional 30-40 minutes. I guess a "profit" of 2.4 mil isn't too shabby but that's probably a high estimate as well.

Please don't forget I'm chinning down there.. and I'll keep having all 6 (?) nechs on me at all times. Chinning really has a "startup" and "shutdown" time which easily halves the speed for the first 5, last 5...

Als simply gathering the ashes is already a real annoyance then..

I'd have to bank every 20ish kills - or which isn't really 3 minutes (I've spent around 10 minutes inside the ct as I was teleported 5 times the wrong area -> look up where the heck I am now again -> walk again).. I'd say for me banking would take indeed 6ish minutes. With that shutdown/startup time the total time to actually kill them would also increase by 10-25%.

It's more or less the question for me: "urn them or let the linger on ground"

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Its better to urn them than leave them on the ground, but its even wiser to bank and sell or altar/ecto infernal ashes. Afterall they are only a few xp short of dbones.

Sure people may whine and say oh but I then have to bank more and we never did before on these tasks, so? Before on these task they did not drop epic "bones" you wouldn't leave d bones behind jsut cuz tht means banking.

Also those ghost thingies also drop ashes, so you will need more than 6 urns, maybe 8?

sone the task: 8.72 urns filled..

But without urns I doubt these are good to chin.. I think normal (melee) works better in that case!
