Make/scavenge a weapon every floor or just use pengs/tears until you're 50. Scavenge/make a weapon till 50, tears, pengs, a blast/surgebox might be a good bind as it's the best guaranteed weapon you can get with 1bind+hood. Here's something to think of: Katagon 2h is smithable. SSH is not. My logic, when I got my hood and took it over plate was this: if I don't like the hood I can destroy it and get a new plate smithed. I can't get a guaranteed hood anywhere. Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.[spoiler=The rest of my sig. It's also not uncommon to see something like a katagon maul or warhammer or baxe on the table, which will easily carry you until you find enough ore for a 2h. And of course 50 dungeoneering is extremely quick to get.
