Ok, so a HUNIN-class ship costs 18,391.2 kT to build. I don't think that's too bad of a price, right? The only real costly things are essentials, the ARC generator core is way cheaper then expected and the thrusters and main weapons use the same array.

If you get me a full parts list and Archi's quotes on their function I might consider helping with the funding. :)

10:53 PM - retech9691: I feel the need
10:53 PM - retech9691: To include many chasms in my story arc
10:53 PM - Resistance: You mean plotholes?

Remember, Remember, the 4th of November

Ok

AI Bridge only costs 1kT because an AI costs 5,000 kT itself. Just plugging it in.

Basic Sensors- Check

Thames Lifesupport- Check

Mining Laser- Generates at a Daily Rate of 20*mining Quality. Meaning that mining in a session does not provide ready money.

Also the kT is base material, not currency (Meaning if you are trading you need to lug the resources to the target, however it does mean that you can build stuff with it).

Holodock- Check. Running holos is fine, but try not to ask loaded questions like 'What is plasma fire made of?' =P

Science Bay- Check. Building prototypes in the science bay is effectively free(as long as it costs less than 1,000 kt and is reasonably sized). Prototyping 50 of the same item will result in limits, as with 50 slightly different things which are then used to equip an army.

If you happened to build 50 slightly different things and then, due to outside and unrelated factors, you have a bunch of people who need weapons, you can give them out with no comeback on you.

Road to 2242:

[hide]

Early 2092:

Asguard and the Unity are attacked by the TFS Germanicus. Fleeing out into

the wastes of space.

Britain and the Commonwealth formalise an Alliance to fight the combined

threat of the Alliance and the TFS Germanicus...whoever that is.

Nero arrives on Mars and is welcomed by Admiral Dusty.

Mid 2092:

Admiral Dusty begins diplomatic negotiations with the Alliance, looking for

an alliance against Britain

After two months of refitting, repairing the damage done when Nexurado

released some sort of Psionic Weapon, dubbed 'The Warpon' by Nero, Nero

leads a devastating attack on what he assumes is a Commonwealth Colony.

Unfortunately for him the colony had been conquered by the Alliance over a

month ago.

The SI uploads to the Terran Information Net, but is isolated after the

transfer on Admiral Dusty's orders. Nero attempts a daring raid, but is

unable to regain it.

The Alliance, seeing the resurgent Terran Federation as backstabbing

traitors, declares war and agree to a truce with Britain

Admiral Dusty publicly chastises Nero and shots are exchanged as attempts

to seize control of the Germanicus fail.

Admiral Dusty calls for an immediate peace conference and the Exile of Nero

with immediate effect.

Late 2092:

Nero ignores the Exile and raids a Terran Shipyard, 'Commandeering' five

Destroyers, before flying to the British Mining Fleet and opening fire.

During the battle one the destroyers is damaged and Nero calls for

reinforcements 'Under bane of losing good Terrans'. Admiral Dusty arrives

on his Flagship, but instead of helping, opens fire on the TFS Germanicus.

While the Vindicator, Dusty's Flagship, and the Germanicus duel, the

British let loose and destroy another destroyer before abandoning the

fight.

Both The Vindicator and the Germanicus sustain heavy damage and eventually

retreat from the battle, with only one ship remaining loyal to Nero.

On returning home Admiral Dusty makes an impassioned speech to the Terran

Public, claiming that 500 people...10% of the population, was killed when

Nero raided a Terran shipping convoy. It is later leaked that it was only

by Admiral Dusty's direct intervention that Nero did not destroy even more.

Nero, meanwhile, flies to Venus and loots the American base for supplies,

using the Americans as slave labour to repair the Germanicus, before

destroying the station and setting off after the Unity...never to be heard

from again.

Early 2093:

An unease peace has descended over the Sol System, with Admiral Dusty

constantly trumpeting peace. Meanwhile a huge cloning facility is built on

Mars, and the best soldiers are cloned.

Mid 2093:

After a year of peace the Alliance and Britain's relationship is fraying,

with the Alliance launching raiding attacks, while the Commonwealth

accidentally misplace food shipments destined for Alliance Colonies. Britain,

sick of the petty fighting, takes up Unity's mantle, and begins

colonisation of Europa.

Late 2093:

The Terran Clones begin coming out of the pods...only to find they are

totally inept, illiterate and unable to speak.

Early 2094: After months of work the Clones have made virtually no

progress, the most advanced is capable of holding a pen... The prospect of

2,000 useless mouths to feed gives Scientists an idea...Clone Woman, create

children, ???, profit.

Late 2094:

Admiral Dusty launches a brief, but highly successful, piracy campaign

against the Commonwealth Colonies, simultaneously leaking non-existent

threats to the Alliance.

Meanwhile the first batch of woman are impregnated, tests show that the

children should develop perfectly normally.

Early 2095:

The British Hegemony explodes into reprisal attacks, with the Commonwealth

accusing the Alliance of Piracy and cutting off food supplies. The Alliance

then resorts to piracy to steal the food back, with the death-toll up at 1.8

million.

Mid 2095:

Britain withdraws from the British Hegemony, having tired of the constant

war. The Alliance launches a heavy assault on the British Mining Fleet,

attempting to take as much of their industrial strength as possible. The

attack fails to secure many vessels, though a dozens are destroyed. Britain

uses the Unity's Black hole Guidance technology to move Ceres into orbit of

Jupiter.

Admiral Dusty signs an executive order, setting the quota of Terran

Children born at 4,000 a year, increasing by 4,000 per year. In full

knowledge that in just three years this will have resulting in less than

25% of the population being capable of working, providing food, or looking

after the other 75%...Admiral Dusty releases the SI. Brokering a deal that

has the SI as Regent of the Empire...ruling until 2150.

Late 2095:

With Ceres on a 8 year orbital readjustment, shipwrights lay down the hulls

for two massive Ark-ships, designed to carry thirty million colonists out

into space.

The British Hegemony, though officially still in existence, lies in

shambles. Britain, though not officially part of it, still plays a major

role, providing the majority of food from Europa.

Early 2098:

The two Ark-ships are completed and loaded up.

Enfield the smaller of the two, carries 10 million Britons to the

Arch system, set to arrive in 2105.

Rossini carries 20 million, including the best and the brightest, to

an uncharted, Sol like star system. When they arrive they will call it

Rossini, setting up the New British League, away from the trouble and

strife that dogs them in the Sol System.

The Terran Federation provides escorts.

Admiral Dusty's final voyage is one of peace, not war.

Mid 2098:

Only some 15 million humans remain in the Sol system. Of these the majority

are Commonwealth citizens and in the elections the hawk party sees all

resources diverted to a genocidal campaign against the Alliance. The

Alliance, for its part, puts up a good fight, but its power is

waning...with 30 million Britons gone food is plentiful again, the pirates

life has lost its appeal...

And so, after almost a decade of strife, suddenly there is prosperity.

Late 2098:

While ships scour the asteroid belt for Alliance ships, Britons and

Commonwealth Citizens begin abandoning their asteroid homes in favour of

Europa.

The Terrans, resources stretched to capacity, scream at Admiral Dusty and

the AI to give them a break. Admiral Dusty is found dead the next day, a

fire spontaneously erupted destroying all of his papers. The SI assumes

leadership of the Empire and announces a week of mourning for Admiral

Dusty's passing, in which there would be no work, which the citizens

appalude. However, when they return to work the next week they find

balconies, mechs and a collection of strangely shaped pins have manifested

themselves in the factories...soon after work quotas triple, then

quintuple, and the strangely shaped pins begin inflicting punishments.

New Year Day 2100:

As celebrations on Europa and Ceres begin, the Terran Fleet de-cloaks and

opens fire. In seconds the British Hegemony is on its knees. With just five

deaths Britain signs a unconditional surrender and are given an ultimatum.

They can either leave Europa, or they can die.

Mid 2100:

Io, Ceres and a host of asteroids have been taken up by the British public.

Io, though a harsh, unforgiving place, is the favoured place because of

Terran incentives to go there. Ceres was, of course, everyone's first

option, but the British Government denied them, keeping Ceres as a redoubt

for Britain's best...a little slice of Utopia, not to be spoiled by the

masses of disillusioned citizens.

The colony on Io is fully industrial, with food being provided by Europa.

Late 2100:

An planned revolution leaves 48 Terrans, 12 Britons and 98 Commonwealth

citizens dead, when it was discovered. With information not going beyond

this everyone believes that it was their faction that was trying to revolt,

and betrayed by the other two.

In truth, 158 Mechs carried out 158 assassinations, with no witnesses.

This represents the last time any mention of revolution occurred within the

Terran Empire.

Mid 2105:

Rossini arrives, finding three M-class planets, two of them with a

flourishing ecosystem, the third is oceanic, with only microbial life.

Enfield arrives and finds the Arch system to be vastly unchanged,

and talking with the Descar, and the Keepers of Keys, they settle in with

the native population.

Late 2105:

Messages sent from Sol arrive in Rossini and Enfield. They relay the events

of the 7 to 3.5 years(due to delay) ago. Rossini returns a message addressed

solely to the SI. Enfield capitulates entirely, though the upshot of that is

effectively nothing.

Back in Sol, the system is renamed Terra, for the fallen planet, and Nero

and Admiral Dusty are raised up as first Heroes of Terra, establishing the

Pantheon of Terra...A strange religion that caught the hearts and minds of

the children...Hundreds of Thousands of Children.

Early 2110:

A small scout ship, sent from Terra, arrives in Rossini, on board is a

Quantum Entanglement Device linked directly into the SI. The QED, as it was

known, was set up at the head of the new Government, which swore allegiance

to the SI and then the Terran Federation.

Very few things change in Rossini, though the Solar Network is extensively

rewritten by the SI.

Interim Period:

Interstellar travel during this period rarely occurred. At 14 years for a

round trip, and travel to Rossini, the Cultural Center of the Empire,

severely restricted, there was no significant incentive to travel.

There were, however, two expeditions mounted of note:

First was the expedition to BSNW, the star that claimed the Unity and

Germanicus, though this expedition was never heard from again, and on

closer inspection may not have ever existed except in newspaper land.

Second, the first Isha-Human War.

Late 2134:

While all seemed peaceful in the Arch system, the British working alongside

the Descar in mining vessels, asteroid belts and agroids, the Isha prepared

for war. Too long had they remained on their planet, too long had the

Descar lived complacently in the sky. And thus, in late 2134 the Isha

launched their first spacecraft, a Heavy Destroyer, into orbit. The ship

was armed with powerful defensive shields, capable of braving the various

satellite systems from the other 'families' on the planet. When it finally

reached orbit it turned its guns planet wards and opened fire, destroying

countless satellites...and behind it another, and another, and another heavy

destroyer, Escorts and Destroyers flanking them left and right.

Their power was again turned on the planet, but this time against the other

families, using Gamma Ray Weapons to purge the five Great Cities of life,

and then mercilessly advancing across the planet, dominating all that lay

before them.

The Descar called their British Allies, the Allies called Terra, and a

fleet was assembled. Grand Admiral Nero leading it.

Early 2141:

The Grand Fleet arrived in the Arch system, the Terran Fleet bristling with

armament, and proceeded to the planet Isha, and waged a battle that lasted

the better part of two years...Not once was the fighting stopped, yes some

ships withdrew for repairs, or to recharge their batteries, but the

fighting itself carried on unabated.

Back on Terra the casualty reports seemed never ending, every day one or

two ships would be destroyed where a captain had been too confident of his

shields, or two ships had collided...and the suicides, where someone just

couldn't take the strain any longer and had opened an airlock.

Mid 2143:

The Isha brought out Polaron Beams, bypassing shields entirely. The

weapons, usually not strong enough to cause much damage, found easy kills

in the war patched hulls of the Terran Fleet. In a single week some one

hundred eighty ships had been destroyed, two thirds of the fleet present

there at the time. The Terrans pulled back, the Descar equipped their bases

with Polaron Beams, and a new stalemate set in.

Many consider the Isha-Human war to have been the last pre-modern war ever

fought, with the emphasis on shields not weapons. Although Humans, and, to

a lesser extent, the Isha, still maintain a high focus on high power

shields, the majority of races have copied the Andian method of using

Overflow Shield Regulators...Allowing a ship to sustain a few high power

weapon hits, while offloading a much larger arsenal of their own.

Early 2150:

The SI relinquishes power and passes the Emperor-ship to Claudio, a Terran

born in 2099, one of the first colony children. Claudio immediately sets

about rolling back the harshest measures implemented by the SI, and the

Terran Empire slumps forward, exhausted. Claudio also demands more clone

children 'We may be 5 million strong, and with strength beyond any that any

have ever known, but by Nero, one hundred years ago, after the greatest war

Humanity had ever seen, even then, we numbered in our Billions! The Terran

Empire must reach that peak once again!'

Millions of clone women were commissioned, quotas were given that that year

every man was to father at least two children.

Late 2152:

With a population explosion of some 540%, and a collapsing infrastructure

as every man struggled to support six children as well as two or three

woman with barely the capacity to walk and talk at the same time, while the

true woman helped in whatever way they could...and some men, rather than

two or three clone woman had two true woman, though these were the

minority...Claudio repealed the demands.

Mid 2163:

An ambitious plan to colonise a new system, named Berlin, is launched by

the Terrans. The plan is to take the 13 Million ten, eleven and twelve year

olds, born during the population explosion, along with a QED and a few

thousand adults, and establish a colony with them.

Late 2170:

The Ark ship, Nero's Breath, arrived in Berlin to discover a single

habitable planet, and belt after belt after belt of asteroids. Over time

these belts would be identified as having been the breeding grounds for a

race of extinct aliens known as the Kademi, which grew like oyster pearls in

a planet's core, until, one day, they would burst out into space, ripping

lumps of rock out of the planet's surface.

The remaining planet, seemingly, was unsuitable for the Kademi's needs.

Early 2173:

Following almost 70 years of successful colonisation, Rossini breaks 50

million inhabitants. This system, combined with Arch, Terra and Berlin,

give humanity a grand total of 98 Million individuals.

While Humans, themselves, have put no real research into the matter, a

number of other races have been fascinated by the speed at which humans have

procreated over the last three centuries, starting in 2045, after the Third

World war. At many times when humanity seemed totally doomed to extinction,

suddenly, even though there was barely enough food to go around, another

three generations would spring up in three years. Various theories

pertaining to this issue have suggested two main schools of thought.

The first is that life that evolved in the Terra System is fundamentally

different...Seeing only the immediate gratification and not the long term

consequences of actions.

The second theory, wildly supported by interspeicalists, is that Humans give

off powerful rays known as Sexurons, which provoke any nearby creature to

have sex with them. The lack of any scientific evidence has been balanced

against massive amounts of anecdotal evidence pertaining to sudden,

inexplicable attractions to humans.

A third, less well respected, view is that Humans, unlike any other animal,

has evolved sex, not a as a way of reproducing, but rather as a way of

surviving their unnatural ability of turning everything they touch into

dust.

Late 2178:

A Descar-Human hybrid is created. The creation was unintelligent and seemed

to be in immense pain.

Early 2179:

Following extensive legal battles, Drakes are given the title of

'Subspecies of Humanity.' Before this time they were, in many regards,

treated as vicious pets, or aberrations caused by ingesting alcohol during

pregnancy. In actuality the Drake Subspecies came into existence as a result

of a rogue AI, known as Apep, on the Unity. A virus was then created, and

spread around Asgard, transforming some few tens of thousands of

individuals into this subspecies. However, when Asgard was possessed by

Jen, her psychic emanations had an unforeseen consequence...

Drake are, nearly, immune to psionic impression. This is caused by two

things, firstly, the Drake Brain is configured differently to standard

Humans, thus it is near impossible for a Human to interact with a Drake's

mind, or for a Drake to interact with a Human's mind...despite this they

both have the same way of looking at the world and so share broadly similar

views. The second, and relevant, trait is a certain 'ablativeness', which

means when a psionic attack, of such massively intense magnitude that the

first defence is overcome, then a Drake can flake off data stored in an

unmapped region of the brain, transferring it to someone else. This flaking

provides a temporary defence against even the most powerful psionics.

This data, seemingly, included their chromosomal DNA. Which has, probably

through the crew of the TFS Germanicus, built on Asgard, reached the rest

of the population of Terra.

As such there was a 1 in 100 chance that any child, if either of their

parents were infected with the 'flakes', born would use that data, rather

than the information provided by the Gamete of that respective parent. In

the majority of cases the Drake DNA is dominant, however some traits are

recessive, and there have been cases were someone has reached full

adulthood with one XD chromosome without any Drake Traits.

Mid 2179:

Terran law is changed to class Humanity as three distinct sub species and

one true species. The three sub species are Homo Britonus (Or British),

Homo Drakonus (Drake) and Homo Destructus (Russian). The true species is

known as Homo Terranus (Terran).

Various scientific institutes refused to use the new designations, but were

brought into line over the next decade, now the terms are more or less

entirely accepted.

Early 2180:

As the human population pushes over the 100 million, Emperor Claudio sets

new quotas. The requirement is 15 Million more Terrans in 2 years.

Late 2182:

The Terran population has exploded by 25 million. Claudio demands another

25 million on top of that.

Early 2183:

Claudio is declared dead. The official cause is heart attack, but the timing

suspicious, and once again the SI takes control of the Empire, repeals the

demand for 25 million more children, and instead decrees that anyone found

to have more than two more children in the next ten years will be forced to

kill their child.

Forestalling any attempts at revolution mechs are deployed in factories, and

rumours abound that if there is any revolution that the SI has to intervene

in, then the 18 hour day and the 7 day week will return. Three pitched

battles break out on Europa, though the force against the revolutionaries

is always stronger than the force for them.

Mid 2186:

The SI withdraws its control allows elections to take place. There is no

official law on elections of the Emperor in the Terran Empire, as such a

regency council is called to make a ruling, and it is decided that the

Emperor should be decided by the will of the Heroes of Terra, and the only

way to discover the will of the Heroes of Terra is if they, the regency

council, decide on a successor, and, naturally, the successor must be one

of them.

Late 2186:

With the Terran Empire without a leader things have been more or less the

same as ever, as a result the building of the Palace of Regency goes by

unfluttered. Once constructed a huge chimney is built and it is decreed

that they will be locked inside until a decision has been reached, with no

contact with the outside world. Once a decision has been reached Black

Smoke will be sent from the chimney, made by burning the Robes of Regency

of the new Emperor.

The Emperor Kirk is elected.

Early 2187:

After much pomp and circumstance Emperor Kirk is given his full powers, and

as his first act he decrees that a new 10 million strong Ark ship will be

sent to new system, which will be named Conclave. The ship will leave in

2192.

Late 2187:

Rossini announces a survey program, naming the systems of (Under the

Guidance of Emperor Kirk) Quarrus, Khan, Ikana, Grissom and Paulus (Along

with several dozen systems which were not suitable and so are omitted), as

well as Conclave, which will use QED, with the colonisation mission to

Conclave being put back until late 2194, when the QED will relay

information as to whether the endeavour is worthwhile or not.

Late 2194:

The Conclave probe begins sending back data, revealing the presence of an

alien culture, not just that, but some sort of 'Jump Gates' which allow for

incredibly fast transit across space. Using the SI as a codebreaker, the

race is identified as Andian, and it seems that they have a 'hub world'

where their whole fleet is stationed. Running some numbers it is quickly

determined that, if the whole Terran Fleet was to launch a massive attack

at the world know as 'Dussel' then would be a good chance that the Andian

fleet would be destroyed, in a New Years style attack. The fleet is

dispatched under overall command of Admiral Dusty, the seventh.

With its mission completed the Conclave(Indus) Probe was called back in

case it was discovered and the element of surprise was lost.

Early 2195:

British Spacers, or Asteroid Dwellers, a tiny substrata of the British

subspecies, launch a pre-emptive colonisation effort of against Ikana,

Khan, Quarrus and Paulus (As well as about half of the uninhabitable

systems). Though the Spacers only have a few thousand on each mission, if

they reach the target first, then they could stake out the best land.

Mid 2197:

Data from Quarrus, Khan, Ikana, Grissom and Paulus all comes back...all

contain inhabitable planets, although Paulus is already inhabited and known

as Astare. The race that inhabits it is known as the Kalinka, data from

them also shows 'Jump Gates' but no mention of the Andians, so they

probably developed the technology independently. The probe remains hidden,

transmitting every scrap of information available to it.

Late 2201:

The Terran Fleet arrive in Indus(Conclave) and make a beeline for the

Jump gate to Dussel. Moving in full stealth mode, before jumping.

Early 2202:

The Terran Fleet appear, their stealth systems fried by the jump, but with

total surprise. The Andian defence gunners hesitated for just an instant too

long and the vast Terran Fleet overwhelmed the weak shields of the turrets,

destroying them, scanning them, and locating central command. While

searching a worrying word is discovered...Regional... But the Terran Fleet

was committed, they could hardly back down now. Bursting towards the enemy

the data gathered from the turrets was analysed and showed the weak shields

were not actually weak, they could withstand a direct hit from a weapon of

massively greater power, and not let any energy get to the armour of the

ship, but would fail directly afterwards...Their downside was that they

would also fail after a regular hit, which could then be followed up by

some high power weapons to cause massive damage to the hull.

The Terran and Andian Fleets hit each other about half an AU from the

Command Center. The Andian Fleets firing scores of high powered weapons,

pummelling the high power shields of the Terran vessels...designed more for

attritional combat than an all out onslaught. The Terran Fleet launched co

-ordinated assaults, unaware that their codes were woefully inadequate and

had been broken between the time they launched their assault against the

defences, and the time they struck the fleet. The Andian electronic warfare

programs easily circumventing the Terran firewalls, causing critical power

failures across much of the fleet.

However the Terran vessels, designed for this kind of co-ordinated strike,

not to mention redundant shield generators galore...and not to mention the

SI through QED links that was called in as reinforcement against the

Electronic Warfare... were capable of keeping up the pressure for the

better part of twenty minutes, at which point the Andian Vessels began a

disorganised retreat towards the command centre.

The Terran fleet carried on hammering the fleet for the AU, before the

Command Centres Batteries opened up, and shields extended. The Terran

Fleet was not spent, but it was losing cohesion, with perhaps 30%

casualties. The Batteries slagged another 30% before the shields were

penetrated and fire was focused on the Command Centres weapons and shield

cores. Only for the Andian Fleet to let loose another assault, causing

another 10% of the fleet to be reduced to metallic husks with glittery

spirals unfurling behind them as they lazily somersault through space.

But finally, with barrels hot and emitters pulsing, everything Andian was

neutralised. The Terrans began organising boarding parties and began the

long slog to take command of the command centre...and as the teams worked

their way through the centre a deep sense or foreboding hit as maps on

tables, memos, prisoner's threats...they all indicated this was not the

primary base of operations...but was merely a regional command centre,

protected by a small fleet...like the one the Terrans had protecting

Rossini.

Now came the moment of truth, Admiral Dusty, the Seventh...did he fortify

the system, or attempt to flee back home. Neither. Admiral Dusty, the

Seventh, chose what can only be described as insanity, he chose to issue

demands, with co-ordinates of Terra.

Mid 2202:

Within four months a fleet some five times what had been present at Dussel

had torn through the defensive lines hastily established after the demands

for surrender had been rejected. The Terran Fleet had been stripped down,

its shields plugged into the command centre, its weapons lying uselessly

abandoned...their generators using every scrap of power to keep the shields

up around the command centre

Shot after shot hammered against the shield, the giant fleet, a fleet

designed for hit and run wars, was tied into an attritional battle...This

was a fight Humans could win...

And so, for the next five years the Dussel Command Center sat cowering

behind an impenetrable shield, while ever more ships amassed outside their

fortress, adding their own fire to the torrent.

Elsewhere Andians analysed the co-ordinates, trying to work out how it

could be that a system within the Drell Rift could possibly have a Jump

Gate...and more importantly, how they got into the Andian Jump Gate Network

undetected.

But the more they analysed the data the more they disbelieved that Jump

Gates were involved. Their transmitters didn't use any protocols that would

be relayed by a jump gate, their engines were too large...everything

pointed towards ships that flew through Truespace, rather than Jumpspace.

But what race would commit itself to a 70-80 year journey, only to be let

down by faulty intelligence and bad planning?

Ultimately the Andians were stalemated.

Mid 2202:

British Spacers arrive on Quarrus, Khan, Ikana and Astare and begin

colonisation. They also begin dialogue with the Kalinka...and by dialogue,

it means a five week game of hide and seek before eventually communicating

a truce.

Late 2204:

After reviewing all of the captured data on Jump Gates the SI provides the

blueprints for one to the Emperor Kirk, who commissions two to be built

linking Terra and Rossini, as a test.

Early 2208:

Finally the Andians hit upon the same idea as the Isha, and wheel out the

Polaron Cannons. Within a week the station is a listing space hulk, with

Admiral Dusty, the Seventh, trembling in a cell, along with hundreds of

other Terrans captured when the centre fell.

But even in this catastrophic failure...there was victory. All of the

ships, the ships capable of travelling between stars, had been destroyed.

All of the engineers capable of building them had been killed...Even though

the Andians had won the war, now they were denied final victory.

A QED was found by the Andians and used to contact the SI, and discussions

were held, at great length, with an eventual ceasefire being agreed.

Late 2208:

After much trial and error, the pair of Jump Gates are finally completed

and deployed. With some protest the gates open Jump Space and a ship

enters, and three months later, exits in Rossini.

A number Jump Gates are commissioned, linking Terra to Quarrus, Berlin and

Khan, a further jump gate linking Terra to Grissom is also commissioned,

but, for some reason, refuses to open.

Mid 2209:

The SI opens dialogue with the Kalinka, offering to buy their collected

star maps in exchange for its collected star maps. The Kalinka agree to an

exchange and the SI asks what this jagged edged zone is, to which the

Kalinka replies that it is impassable to Jump Gates.

Late 2211:

After much consideration the Terran Federation offers to open a Jump Gate

to Tocys, a system controlled by the Kalinka. The Kalinka, reject it out of

hand, having been told of the Terran Federation's wickedness by the British

Spacers. However, after intervention by Rossini the Kalinka relent, and a

gate is established.

Survey teams from both sides enter and are doggedly watched was they go

about their scans.

The Kalinka remark that this should not be possible, for Terra is within

[the Drell Rift], but nothing further comes of that.

Late 2213:

After two years of exploring and analysing, the SI proposes that one may

enter a rift, at a delayed rate, and move within the rift at a delayed

rate, but one may not pass directly though the rift...there must be a way

station between.

Mid 2220:

The Descar open unilateral negotiations with the Andians to open a Jump

Gate, and share the accumulated data, given to them by Rossini. The Terrans

hit the roof, but it is too late. Arch, along with millions of Humans,

throws off the protection of the Terran Federation and embraces the

protection of the Andians. Within just a month the Andians have acquired

all of the research and information necessary to build a hyper drive. Terra

has no choice but to open negotiations with them.

Late 2224:

With extended negotiations over a new treaty is reached.

The Andians will return the Arch System, in exchange for it becoming a Free

System, which does not have to follow Terra's orders.

The Council will accept Terran Sovereignty over: Terra, Rossini, Quarrus,

Ikana, Khan, Berlin and Grissom.

In exchange

The Terrans must accept the Council's Rules and Regulations for Space fight,

as well as all current treaties pertaining to the Sovereignty of systems.

Terra must not impede relations between any Council and/or non-Council

race.

Terra must provide free and unhindered access to the SI by the Andians.

Late 2225:

Emperor Kirk dies in his bed, a new election is called and a successor is

chosen...a known hard-nosed Imperialist, Emperor Toutatis.

Early 2226:

Having noticed that previous have inevitably lead to singular generations,

overloading the education system and generally damaging society, Toutatis

declares a system of National Service for reproduction. Calling up all

Terran males, regardless of religious, moral or sexual preference and

requiring them to attend a camp every 5 years, unless they have produced a

child in the last 5 years or are infertile. Britons and Drakes are

exempted from this requirement. Terran Females may volunteer, but are not

required to attend.

Mid 2226:

The Council rules against the Terran Empire's use of, effectively, slave

labour, both of Terran Males, and Cloned Terran Females. The Terran Empire

retorts that the council has accepted Terran Sovereignty within the Empire.

The Council drops a requirement to change the law, but blocks the Terran

Empire from gain further systems until the practice is outlawed.

Late 2229:

A Russian Escort is encountered in Plagas, the shuttle flees into Jump

Space. The Drake Tug does not pursue, but marks down the location,

directionality and trail, reporting it a year later when it arrives in

Ikana.

Early 2231:

Five British Destroyers, along with one Terran Cruiser, are dispatched to

the predicted star system, with a deployable Jump Gate in tow.

Mid 2238:

The fleet arrives in the Dirth System, encountering what appears to be an

abandoned Russian facility. In keeping Council regulations, the find is

reported and the team wait four months for a Jump Gate to be opened to

Plagas, the nearest system.

However, a strange discovery is made. The Dirth System should be within the

Drenkla Verge, but the Jump Space Journey only requires two months.

Late 2238:

After additional scanners are brought in, it is confirmed that a hole is

being bored through the Drenkla Verge. The facility provides no real clue

as to how it was being done.

Late 2241:

The Kalinka apply for Sovereignty over the Astare System. The Terrans

counter-claim, stating that they are in the process of colonising the

system.

The Council counters that the Terrans cannot claim a new system while they

are banned from claiming systems.

The Terrans state that under the laws for system colonisation: A system can

be granted to no party, except those which have a majority share of the

population of the system consenting.

The Council calls for a referendum.

The Terrans demand that an elected official from both parties be there,

fully aware that the Kalinka have not yet opened a Jump Gate due to

Terrance Rift, which isolates Astare from all systems except those within

the Terrance Rift, or those within the Drell Rift.

The Council accepts the deal, and ironically requires the Terran Empire to

open a Jump Gate to Astare so that the Kalinka Representative can travel via

Grissom, Khan, Terra, Astare...giving 8 months.

Early 2242:

The colony mission leaves, having been rapidly prepared, with 6 months

remaining.

The colony mission arrives, with 4 months remaining.

Let me know if there are any glaring mistakes...and yes, I know, it is massively long and not nearly as fun as the last one...Kinda hard to make fun when humanity is fighting for its survival, and the script says Terrans have to conquer everyone else.

Also, a map exists, however I need to make some modifications, due to me noticing continuality errors, so it will be made tommorrow/today (its 5:20am)

Enjoy, and hope this answers some of the questions about the glorious world of tommorrow!

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

That's our mission!?

Also recent testing has found Albert to release an unimaginable amount of Sexurons. This baffling discovery has made scientists truely question their belief in science.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

Map is finished:

[hide]Stars7.png[/hide]

Would like to remind everyone that the next session is tommrow, and the one after that is on Monday.

Would also like to remind people that the Terran Fleet will arrive on Monday and begin an inquistion inspection of the system. Anyone will illegal items is advised to give yourself up and accept perma death (No seriously, get rid of the items or you will be perma killed). Other crimes will also be processed. The Terran fleet will leave on Friday.

Finally, Next Monday, 3 sessions time, there will be a referendum on joining the Kalinka Empire, or remaining in Neutral Space, subject to colonial laws by the Terran Empire. (choice to join the Terran Empire is not present since the Terran Federation is banned from expanding)

At present the overwhelming majority (450,000 out of 460,000ish) vote to stay neutral with a view to joining the Terran Empire in the future.

It is unlikely this view will change much over the next three sessions, but will, hopefully, be annual.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Wow, the map seems huge! [hide= Irrelivant Sentence #1] And it looks sorta like the system map in Spore[/hide] I read the "very long" timeline in about five minutes, and I really feel like I missed a lot. [hide= Irrelivant Sentence #2-4] Speed reading seems to be necessary when people are shooting messages back and fourth really fast in the chat room. :D I learned speed reading way before I was introduced to the website. I blame the MCAS (A really long and boring test that I need to pass so I can graduate) for making me learn speed reading.[/hide] Archi, weapons made in game are legal, right? I'd rather not give up the ones I have, but if I must I will <_<. [hide= Irrelivent Sentence #5] Archi, I think you meant "Anyone will illegal items is advised to give yourself up or accept perma death" not "Anyone will illegal items is advised to give yourself up and accept perma death" [/hide]

Not it an AND not an OR.

Speed reading is sooooo necessary for life.

Weapons made ingame are usually fine.

At present there is not much illegal, just some psi items.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

And that's why I prefer to have my mind-controlled stuff controlled directly by my brain rather than some bastardized telekinesis.

Ahh, speed reading, the only thing I can do faster than I can think... well, that and dodging.

I think the assumption is pretty much going to be 'He's mad with power, cut the power' at this point. Even if I get persecuted as a Psion, I haven't tried to use my powers in any particularly unnatural way... Say, attempting to destroy time? I'm sure with a fine or two and some court proceedings I could end up a registered - if monitored - Psion. I'm pretty sure you didn't get express permission from the Terran Federation officials to create that abomination, they might not even recognize you before they open fire.

Of course, this is assuming less than stellar proceedings, for all I know you could recieve a medal.

Also, I'll need what you know about the Knightmare for future reference if I attempt to construct a - safer of course - Psi Empower.

Won't that be... suspicious? You're a register Psion, there will probably be scheduled check-ups on your status. They'll be looking for you, wondering where you are, and any number of things could betray your location and the nature of the liberties you've taken.

Better safe than sorry, I suggest a purge of the Psionic drugs and hiding the Knightmare under the surface of a planet or asteroid somewhere. Not Astare 3, they might try to glass it, and the asteroids aren't within our jurisdiction so they will likely be being mined by a separate faction.

This actually might be a good chance for me to register as a Psion. I don't like going against the laws. There are only two objects in existance that could incriminate me, one being tucked away in 4D space and the other safely residing where no one would think to look. I even have physical evidence against my 'murder' of the Sarlane guards.

I'm going to kill you again if you start tackle-hugging people.

Nah, not really, but keep it to a minimum... especially during combat situations. :P

Aw come ON! I know way better than that. Why in Sam hell would I tackle hug someone in the middle of a combat situation?! I'd have to be really drunk to be able to do that!

Now SMART tackle hugging is done by a non-drunk who is somewhat aware of the possible consequences. Example would be me tackle hugging Peri, thus ending up with me being electrocuted and possibly dead.

ALSO, I am kinda limited on choices because it depends on who is in the session and if that person is on the same ship as I am. And I'm likely to develop a pattern of victems victums victims glomped people, so eventualy they'll be able to read my pattern and evade the next glomp.

As far as I'm aware of, those who are on the Pegasus would be me, Peri, and Albert (as far as I can remember). I'm no longer sure about Vasily being there or not.

Who else is on the Pegasus again?

Just as a notice, the combat medic version of my suit is going to be very expensive, around 2.5 times as expensive as the military version, apparently the stimulators and tranquilizers cost at least the same as the civilian version each and the defibrilator costs 2.5 times as much as it by its own. Nanites however are cheap, a supply of medical nanites costing 50 kT at max.

Wait, that's EC not kT.

Civilian(unarmed):

200 kT

Military(armed):

390 kT

Combat Medic:

405.95 kT
