curtis95112
I was thinking about spending 15 mil on herblore. I am currently lvl 35. How should I train herblore and how high can I expect to get? I can spend a few million more if necessary. Castle of Zoltar
Siobhana
Have you done the quests that unlock the "Managing your Kingdom" (MTK) activity? That is an awesome way of getting herbs. Farming is also good imo. The first real useful potion you find at lvl 38 (prayer pots). Before that I'd actually perhaps try and stick to cleaning herbs/attack potions (very easy 2nd) or serum 207 (requiring some of the Morytania quests, sorry can't remember off the top of my head). To get to 38 you need 321 attack potions, which should be pretty doable. The way I finally got to 99 herb was pretty much keep all herbs dropped by monsters (after a while I left marr, guam, tarr and harr in that order), MTK and doing a farm lap or two every day. Ty Jeppoz for making it. Thx to the Pup for finding it after it got lost :D And thx to Kill_Life and Turtle for the ava. To be honest it is not smart to do that, you should actually sell all the herbs you gather and buy the herbs (or unfs) you need to train the most effective way, check grimy_bunyip's spreadsheets for gp/xp and xp/hr rates, try to get a good mix between cheap gp/xp and high xp/hr ;) I would also recommend getting yourself the dungeoneering reward called scroll of cleansing, it has saved/made me maybe 5-6 mil already. If you are making your own unfs you should use it, and it is also a good moneymaker! Siobhana
Well, Grimy's sheets are currently not available. Until he chooses to rehost, and tell people where, not much point looking for them. And I'd agree with you on perhaps buying select herbs/unfs are better when you get a higher lvl, but at 35 there is a distinct lack of actual potions you are able to make. You're not even able to make super attacks (afaik one of the cheaper gp/xp pots) until lvl 45. Ty Jeppoz for making it. Siobhana
Oh, and i forgot about the scroll of cleansing. Absolutely worth the points!! If you plan on farming a bit of herbs (either for plain xp or cash) also make sure you get the scroll of resurrection or what it's called. (The one that gives you a chance of seeds back) Ty Jeppoz for making it. Thx to the Pup for finding it after it got lost :D And thx to Kill_Life and Turtle for the ava. Quyneax
Serum 207 locks a bank space with useless potions. Unlike extremes, which also need to be dropped 28 at the time (unnoteable) but are actually useful. I would not recommend making serums for this reason alone. curtis95112
Thanks for the advice everyone. Any reason attacks should be made instead of higher lvl potions? Castle of Zoltar
LitterBug
I think when they said attack potion - they were going for cheap exp/gp ratios. At your level, a difference of like 25-50k exp an hour doesn't really matter much because you're going to be leveling at an extremely fast rate regardless. Nifflin
The sheets are back up! Check the link in my siggy, it's their new home. Edit: Attacks should be made because if we approximate your income they are the best balance between cost and time. They are both important factors because if something takes too much time it becomes more costly to do (time=money). The Grimy sheets take both factors into account and give each potion an "efficiency ratio" which is a measure of how well it balances speed and expense. If you give us your maximum income/hour I can tell you for sure the very best potion to make. PM me in game anytime It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet. That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying.
