Smavey
Man who didn't start this game when they were 12-13. I'm 17 now, but i've been playing for like 4 years and i remember that i got addicted fast. I know that the main reason i'm still playing is friends and i've got a high account and it's fun being a high lvl right. I'm pretty sure 12 years olds would get addicted faster than a 17 year old who would rather play an fps or something :S I donno why it's 13+ now, it's a childrens game i would think. jaklumen
i couldnt find any topic discussing the age limit either. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=378809 Discuss.Actually, that topic is probably the one he was talking about that has been locked I locked it because inappropriate posts kept coming up. I think we're good here. Basically, I think this is just a way for Jagex to avoid lawsuits-- much like the warning labels on various products. Specifically, this has to do with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) which states, "Websites that are collecting information from children under the age of thirteen are required to comply with Federal Trade Commission ( FTC ) Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)." madchild
No-one noticed that Tip.it also has 13+ limit. But thats normally mandatory on forums. Retired from Runescape and the OoC.
Spongehead91
What this does, is block out the good 12-year-olds that won't lie about their age, and gets more of the spammy ones that will lie... I, myself am 14, so it doesn't effect me. I've stopped playing RuneScape. KoL's better.

I wasnt sure which act it fell under, but i was pretty sure it was some of legal jurisdiction.
mbistro
The age limit won't work, but it might keep a few kids out of the game. This game is packed with 12 yr olds, it's good that they have a age limit. The 12 year olds are ruining the game. I think in rsc the average age was maybe 14, the maturity level was okay. Now it's all these little children.

lagatag
Not surprising, runescape was pretty much the only site I knew that you could sign up for without being 13 or over. You could say its useless becuase people will just lie, but then again it can scare off some little kids.
