CLS

The reason I'm even contemplating this is for anti-crashing at bandos. Yesterday, Drazhar44, Octarine and I went to Bandos, found the first available world we could, yet it was a matter of time before we were crashed by a guy who only had extremes and piety vs our ovls and turm and so by rights we should have outkilled him every time yet he still managed to get the lionshare of kills... The defining thing was he had a CLS.

And therefore one can see that the CLS trums Rapier in EVERY situation and in an area where damage is the key then we three were severly at a disadvantage with 2 rapiers and a whip.

I ultimately I want what most people want to do and become Nex ready which should happen over the next year or so as I max out Mage and Range, but I'm going to be spending a lot of time this and next month trying to blitz to 100 DG before I head home for the summer and my time on Rune is cut down by dissertation and other work, meaning that I will be getting the tokens anyways for the things I want - namely Maul, Rigour and CXBow.

SO what do you think? Should I spend the tokens I'll have at 91 DG on a CLS or continue with my plan of Maul etc and get it at the end? And would a Maul actually be better than CLS? Though again we had another crasher, this one with a maul in invo yet he'd only occasionally outkill one of us.

Reacting impulsively and saying what's on your mind feels oh so good.. for a little, until you realize you just started WWIII.

CLS is a pretty amazing piece of weaponry, although depending on how much you like/dislike dunge if you mainly plan on Nexing it may not be the best thing to get. If however you think you could quite easily stick out another 200k tokens then I would definitely reccomend getting the CLS. It is also very useful at a lot of other places other than Bandos so I'm sure you'll find it very useful in the long run.

I would say, get a maul and bring more special recovers + claws. Claws are way better at anticrashing than another chaotic :P.

By the way those figures are probably wrong after, say, the third number.

I'm not sure how the maul would fare against Graardor. 713 versus 632 max hit, with the cls getting 20% more hits in for 758 damage per 6 ticks (that's without accuracy).

Then it's 189 crush versus 170 slash, that is, 253 and 234, so the maul has an 8% higher accuracy roll, but the cls has about 6% more raw dps.

Rapier would be 141 stab (205) which means the longsword would have about 14% higher max accuracy roll. The rapier would have about 14.5% higher raw dps, too.

Note that I didn't actually take into account the 5 base bonus you get (favours the faster weapons ever so slightly).

Methinks the problem is the number of people and not your weapon. With 4 people his health is split 4 ways, effectively giving your main advantage (rapier and whips speed) away.

Graar has 2550 health if I remember correctly so ~638 damage is needed for you all to tie in damage. Because the cls is more accurate than a rapier (and more accurate than the whip by far) at bandos if he hits two lucky 400's he's got the kill essentially. If it was just you and him he could hit the two 400's and still not get the kill because your extra attack turns paid off more than your lack of accuracy hurt you.

Hope I communicated that clearly...
