Getting over my fear of street photography

Featured Replies

Ordinarily, I really dislike Black & White. But, I guess I can give it a go.

I'm still not very confident with taking photos in public. I'm still unable to take a photo while someone is looking at me -- this is something I'm aiming to overcome these next few weeks.

I was walking around the city for around 3 hours and these are pretty much all I got, which is kinda shameful. Still, it's something.

All these were taken with a 5D Mk II and Sigma 50mm f/1.4 combo.

5D Mark II, Sigma 50mm f/1.4. I should've put that in the OP, heh.

Well yeah, the first one is a massive crop, also shot from the hip.

I dont know why but the Mark II has such a unique style to its photos. You can look at pictures and almost instantly know it was taken with a mk II.

Im Nashville by the way if you didnt already know

Ew. Please get those cinematic borders off. They remind me of bad landscape photos. But I love the distinctive look of your photos, even if a few of them are boringly composed, and I feel, not unique. I appreciate them but feel you could do much better.

http://i.imgur.com/NdwpN.jpg - That for me is just boring. The other figures detract, and it is on the whole a bland shot, for example.

I don't like the composition. By and large they look boring and they don't really have focal points (although the bus one not in the OP was better though, with the full picture).

Great clarity though.

The first BW one with the bus seemed kind of awkward to me; maybe because of the text on the bus. (the full picture you posted later is a lot better than the cropped imo)

The others are great though.
