Kimberly Posted July 6, 2011 Share Posted July 6, 2011 (edited) When you first buy it, the barrows item appears normal in this case "Verac's Brassard". When you engage in any type of combat activity, the 'time in combat' timer starts. The name of the item is changed to reflect this. In this case, "Verac's Brassard 100" Remember that barrows armor degrades over time in combat, so you will see it at stages of 100, 75, 50, 25, until it finally hits 0 and offers no benefit in combat. It takes roughly 8 hours of combat to degrade down to nothing. You can repair the degrading bits of armor with any Armor Repair Stand in any POH with a bit of coin on you. And those 8 hours are consistent combat. (According to RS Wiki its 15 hours) In other words, barrows armor, from new to trashed, lasts a good long time. Ya it's on a 25 interval. the 20 is for FOG armors. BluePain Posted July 6, 2011 Share Posted July 6, 2011 I noticed it said verac 'body' instead of 'brassard' in the chat O_O Anyway, you can fix it either at bob in lumbridge or at your poh workshop. Both require some cash depending on how degraded your armour becomes but poh workshop is cheaper as your smithing level increases. If you drop barrows armour, they turn to barows armour 0 immediately. In which case you will need to fix it. It is tradable at 0 as well as at full. It makes sense now - I've already been through one full cycle of that armor, and didn't notice it the first time. BluePain, good catch - I didn't even realize that, though it's interesting.
