The Marketplace is completely dead to be honest.

 

Maybe it should just be removed once and for all? Or merge with Help&Advice to increase traffic? Leaving it there seems... idunno... weird :-k

Yeah, activity has certainly seen better days, but it has enough activity to keep it up.

 

Besides, Help & Advice is too active right now for that. If this is added to it, the Marketplace function of it will be non-existant because it will just get bumped out anyway.

 

Just my two cents.

I think marketplace does get some vague foot traffic but it is defunct in purpose.

Bulk of trading goes through the GE and the few direct trades tend go through in-game and/or rsof as they need to be that "central" as it were to get the attention due to the relatively low volume of trading done that way.

 

The threads I see posted there are just like why? Type of threads like buying vials or w/e at standard pricing, theres no point to it. Just throw up ge offer and job done.

I don't think there is enough reason to remove it. It has enough activity to be there, even limited as it is.

Even though it barely has any activity, I think it's worth keeping just because we need a place for the odd thread that is about buying/selling something.

I agree with the above :) I can't understand why anyone would even use it (except maybe for trading rares), but people do - even if not that often. So I think we should accommodate those people :) Plus the forum doesn't actually take up any extra room or anything, except on the General Discussion index. So not much harm in keeping it for now.

It just seems out of place to me. Why exactly is it under Gen/Disc?

 

Idk, but for some reason I thought adding it to H&A made more sense *shrugs*

 

But in the end, it's kind of redundant with the GE and all :mellow:
