Solo Rex

What would be a decent set up for me to solo Rex, with mage of course.

 

Also, what would be the best spell to use, Fire surge with chaotic staff or Slayer dart with staff of light? I will be trying to make money there but I also don't want really slow kills.

For the spell, use fire surge.

 

Gear wise, idk, i've never solo'd rex. But when I went tribridding, I maged him in bandos.

 

I'd imagine any type of barrows melee armour would suffice though.

Is barrows melee really neccesary if I am only tanking him for a few hits before moving into the safespot? I was thinking I'd try to get some mage bonus but not that much since you hit almost every time anyway.

veracs, inf boots, nezzy/slayhelm(if on task), arc stream, obby sheild/dfs/spectral, nomads cape

You're tanking the little buggers that damage and poison you.

Chaotic staff AND Arcane stream necklace, if you can. Surge all the way.

Verac's is good because of its prayer bonus. Guthan's is good because of the +50 ranged defence bonus & healing, but, it's magic attack bonus is lower.

stick with veracs, you wont need guthans because you have ss for healing
