Beginner Td help

My stats are: 95 att, 96 str, 90 def, 90 ranged, 97hp, and 81 summoning, with chaotic rapier and maul. (Working on rigour, 74 prayer)

 

I have about 15m to spend on gear, more depending on what I get from revs in the next few days, lets ay 20m max.

 

I do NOT have void or Overloads, butI have extreme attack and strength pots, but may be getting void over the next week or so, I do have access to handcannons, but I mainly want to know what my best setup is, and where to kill and how to lure them!

 

 

I was thinking chaotic maul and cannon, with elemental titan for healing, but not sure what is best.

Your firemaking level is really low for a handcannon, I'd recommend either black hide/Karil's + Karil's crossbow or rune crossbow. Heal with titan and ee/eee, and otherwise just focus on strength + attack bonus (fury etc.). Bring a few extra rocktail. Use one spawn only, don't try any fancy 2/3 spawn luring, your titan won't be able to keep up at all and you'll be forced to teleport quickly.

Thank you. Also, any tips for prayer usage? I know they switch attack styles, but just wondering if it is possible to make them use a set one. (i dont actually have an ee(e) yet either)

The only way to make them stop switching attack styles is not praying against them :P. It works at high levels with soul split on their melee attack.

No, they randomly switch until you stop praying. They will switch from melee faster if you're not in range though.

Erm, not very well, it isn't the end-all never-have-to-switch-again tding method, but it's nice if you're using void deflector or tassets + ktop + neit or so (both of which are not ideal gear).

I once heard from a friend that if you walk onto the TD, meaning stand ontop/underneath it, while it is doing the attack style switch emote, it will force it to continue using Melee. This means you can force them to endlessly use the Melee attack while praying against it. I haven't tested it out yet as my ping doesn't allow me to get on top of it soon enough.

Thanks to everybody else for help, soloed 2 effigies and some claws already, and have gotten the hang of prayer swapping!
