I'm low alching extra ores.

What I really need help with is timing. This is my first trip there and haven't worked out when everything runs out. What's the best inventory setup where everything wraps up at the same time, ie, I need to bank for everything. Like another lava titan instead of....

Trips take me about 50 minutes, so my setup is:

3 Jujus

1 Titan

19 Urns

Nature runes

Dragon Pickaxe

Combat Bracelet to Monastery (Use Lassar if you can, which is better)

Equipped is same as whatever you're wearing, but I heard you can switch to Varrock Plate and still get the set bonus effect. Not sure about this.

After summoning the titan, I have 4 inventory spaces, which is enough for me to work with for ores + coin pile from alchemy.

Hope that helps. Trust me, the Titan will by far outlast any amount of urns you'll carry.

Titan = 60 mins

Juju potion = 20 mins

Urn = 3750 xp

Mining is about 90k xp/hr. You can suicide and let your grave hold up to 28 runs (bless).

You can, but there's no point.

Once you own both the gold mining top and varrock plate they each take on the others effect*

So varrock plate adds the % xp and gives the full set bonus; but equally gold mining top will give double ores.

*only applies to mining effect. Smelting etc. doesn't carry over to gold mining top.

Varrock Plate's only 1kg and has defence stats, though. So it helps when running between deposits.

If you use a busy world eg 88 or 77 it doesn't make all that much difference. I've never ran out of run energy and at worst i got down to like 500lp once while on my last urn; and even tht was becuz i didn't notice i was being hit at the west rock and thus didn't move around the rock to break combat. In terms of defence it has so little it would make naff all difference; in terms of weight it could help if you realllllllly having troubles, but considering everythings weight 9kg is nothing really. If you are having troubles with health its better to take EE or EEE to spec with once in a while and/or munching some food when you bank for more urns etc and strapping on a shield.

I might be missing something here, but what's the point of the RoW? I thought LRC didn't give gems and that gems were junky anyway.

Gems are gooooooooddddd. They soon add up in value, definitely worth keeping when mining and sometimes even on slayer (if you have gem bag)

But yeah LRC doesn't give gems, so no purpose ot it in the setup.

The RoW's probably just for teleing out.

If you've never ran out of run energy then you've been insanely lucky with either SW or SE being up at some point, and only having to alternate between the two. If both SE and SW are down, and you run to a North rock only to find that it's down too, then you'll definitely run out of energy before you even get close to the 4th rock.

He also has the glory for teleports. Something like lummy ring 4 would give energy boosts and an imbued dstone ring from MA would give some defence.

The thing with me and gems is the fact that the huge influx from rogue's den made all but diamonds and dstones worth picking up during slayer tasks. Of course now that I think about it, gems that you get from conventional mining are typically worth more than the ore itself so I guess in that respect it would be worth keeping, but few people mine 1-click-1-ore rocks except for granite nowadays.

Running to north rocks is stupid, too far away to be efficient; you are better off waiting out for a rock to go live again or hitting coal in the meantime.

Waiting it out is complete forfeiture of XP.

And then, it depends on how long you think you'll be mining coal for. At the most, you take 25 seconds to run up to the Northeast gold rock, which is barely any loss of time. Chances are, a rock won't unblock within that 25 second window, especially if you've just been screwed over by a double rock drop. Also, mining coal is really terrible, because it has a lower success rate AND lower xp value than gold. The only time you'd consider mining it is when all 4 gold rocks are down, or if you're out of run energy en route to a rock.
