New account, when to get members?

Recommended Posts

I've played this game for years (2004-2008) on another account, Captain Lego, but wanted to start fresh now I have a bit of time to play again, so I created Lego Avenger. The last week, I've completed all of the F2P quests and raised about 1.2m cash and items.

I'm just wondering how long I should wait before getting members in the modern game. Should I level everything to 50+, or is it better to upgrade now? There won't be much difference in levelling methods til I hit the 50s, so I'm not too sure what to go with.

Levels are as follows:

Total: 589

Attack 40

Strength 40

Defence 44

Prayer 26

Ranged 40

Magic 49

Runecrafting 24

Dungeoneering 1

Constitution 45

Crafting 28

Mining 33

Smithing 34

Fishing 37

Cooking 41

Firemaking 52

Woodcutting 46

Any constructive advice would be appreciated.

Had a dream, I was King. I woke up, still the King...

Technically, you're going to get the fastest leveling by getting members as soon as you make the account. However, I'd advise that you get members once you run out of things you want to do in f2p. It's quite an open question though, and it doesn't have one correct answer.

I would train a few skills first. A few of them are easy to train in F2P, such as woodcutting and fishing.

My advice would be to get your woodcutting, fishing, and firemaking up. Possibly cooking, and combat skills.

Woodcutting (Up to level 68) is best done through willows, which can be done in F2P @ Draynor.

Fishing at the trout/salmon spot near barbarian village is a good training place for awhile.

Burn the willow logs you cut. Unless you plan on spending money on firemaking, willows are the best way to go (F2P or not).

Cooking can be trained quite well in F2P with lobsters, but you do miss out on the rouges den fire.

Rune weapons are your best weapon at this time, and there won't be much else to use until dragon at 60. I'd hit up something in the Security Stronghold and train your attack/strength/defense up a bit.

Hi if you're reading this you are amazing and I love you.

Maybe they'll release a bugless update for April Fools. That'd sure be a joke

As Balthamel posted, the best xp is in P2P. Some things don't require high levels but are extremely useful early in the game (Tears of Guthix) and others are just really awesome (One Piercing Note). P2P equipment starts getting better at level 40 attack (brine sabre), 40 defence (fighter torso, though it isn't worth getting much) and of course in P2P you have decent crossbows and mage gear (mystic :P). Xp-wise, teaks are better than willows both for firemaking and woodcutting and the fly fishing spots in P2P are closer to banks/shops (Rasolo/Shilo). Prayer is 1000x easier in P2P as well.

P2P also has a much easier time making money, allowing you to use more expensive methods.

If you would only do quests on a new account as a member you would already be 30-40+ in nearly every stat, so I would advice members as soon as possible, I think it is also a lot more fun.

Yes, definitely become a member immediately. F2P training spots in P2P are barely crowded, plus there are newer P2P spots to train skills in, such as Ardougne Mines for Powermining Iron, Tree Gnome Stronghold for WCing Yews, etc.

Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? You are beyond ridiculous.
