First trip to GWD

So I was watching a video about GWD on youtube, and I decided I wanted to range Avansies. I'm going to do Death Plateau and Troll Stronghold when I get home from school today.

 

What should my inventory look like for ranging avansies + my first time there?

 

Also, what items should i wear to protect myself from the Gods?

Armadyl Helmet, Zamorak kitesheild (or unholy book if praying), if you wish,you can useproect fromranged, in which case, use monks robes, if you want to tank, use a mix of barrows for defense and dhide for ranged offense.

As for the inv: Prayer pots with a few range pots/ emergency sharks, if tanking, range pots, defense pots, (excalibur works well here) food and bones to peaches tablets. As long as you have Armadyl, Zamorak and Saradomin items, you should be fine.

Before any of that i'd really recommend spending the time to get 68 sum for a bunyip - it'll massively improve your ability to stay there for long periods of time.

 

As for set up, i've not played for many months, but when 73-80 range I used Torags Legs, Zammy Helm, black d hide top, C'bow with broads, Accumulator, Granite shield and Snakeskin boots.

 

TBH, it is a little over-kill on defence and as you're 81, which is pretty decent, using brews/restores to boost prayer, you could easily do it in d hide top/bottom, zammy book (or granite if you dont have) and a torags helm. with s/skin boots.

 

I'd recommend using range prayer boost - at the time they were pretty cheap to use and Adamant bars were expensive

Ideally, void range with handcannon (but your firemaking level is too low for that) or Karil's crossbow, Armadyl god cloak, amulet of ranging, archer's ring (i), glaiven boots. You won't have a Zamorak item but you can outheal those with things like enhanced Excalibur and a bunyip (work on those ASAP, use food until then). If you don't want to use Karil's, you can use void deflector with Armadyl d'hide top or chestplate and a Zamorak god cloak. Use a runite crossbow with runite bolts. Regardless of weapon you should pray eagle eye, use ranging potions and pray protect range.
