Dragon Slayer Quest

Recommended Posts

Jan 26 2012 was when I first witnessed this, though I can probably guarantee it has been like this for a while (months) now.

In the Dragon Slayer quest guide it says that Oziach is more or less the one who gives the info on the quest, and the keys; while it is however the Guildmaster in the Champions guild who now gives the keys, the info on the quest, and even a little history of Crandor itself.

Broken down:

*You get the quest from the guildmaster

*You go ALL THE WAY TO OZIACH

*Then you go BACK to where you originated, to start a quest, you technically already started -.-

I'm guessing, they reduced Oziach's position in the quest as simply the guy who sells rune plates. In order for newer players to receive this knowledge, they kept it in the questline, even though it is incredibly redundant (questwise) and annoying.

I don't really get it, what is the difference form the first paragraph?

To start off, talk to the guild master in the Champions guild. When speaking to him, be sure to go through all the chat options. When you ask him about obtaining a Rune Plate mail, he will tell you that he has a friend, Oziach who can help you out with one. He can be found in a small hut just left of the entrance to Edgeville. He will tell you that you may be in the Champions but you may not be worthy of the title "Hero". He will set you off on a quest to kill the green dragon Elvarg on Crandor Isle. You will need to collect 3 map pieces in order to get to the isle. Return to the Champion's Guild, where the Guild Master will give you the key to Melzar's Maze. Ask the Guild Master all the questions you can in order to be able to proceed through the quest. You may want to drop the key and get a second one from him - some players like to train in the Maze.

Do you not need to go to Oziach at all?

Last I recall you do need to go to Oziach during the quest, after starting it at the Champions Guild. If someone having done this quest recently or who has not yet completed it could clarify if the current quest guide (quoted above) is in error, that would help.

Yes. Note how it uses "HE" a lot - you are thinking he is referring to the Guild master right? But then why would it then say "Return to the Champion's Guild, where the Guild Master will give you the key to Melzar's Maze". Obviously, the "He" was referring to Oziach, while it is actually the Guild Master who gives you the info.

That is exactly what happened. You "Start" the quest with the guild master, he then sends you to Oziach, who gives you NO INFO. He just says -go slay a dragon- (don't quote me!) and you have to go back to the guildmaster who THEN gives you THE INFO. This would be slightly different than what the guide states; merely in a possesion of who says what...

But that is exactly what the guide says =S

"To start off, talk to the guild master in the Champions guild. When speaking to him, be sure to go through all the chat options. When you ask him about obtaining a Rune Plate mail, he will tell you that he has a friend, Oziach who can help you out with one."

Guildmaster gives you info and sends you to Oziach

"He can be found in a small hut just left of the entrance to Edgeville. He will tell you that you may be in the Champions but you may not be worthy of the title "Hero". He will set you off on a quest to kill the green dragon Elvarg on Crandor Isle. You will need to collect 3 map pieces in order to get to the isle."

Oziach tells you to kill the dragon.

"Return to the Champion's Guild, where the Guild Master will give you the key to Melzar's Maze. Ask the Guild Master all the questions you can in order to be able to proceed through the quest. You may want to drop the key and get a second one from him - some players like to train in the Maze."

Guildmaster gives you the key and more info

He/him always refers to the last male person named, so:

Though arguably for clarities sake this segment needs editting thusly:

When speaking to him, be sure to go through all the chat options. When you ask him about obtaining a Rune Plate mail, he will tell you that he has a friend, Oziach, who can help you out with one. Oziach can be found in a small hut just left of the entrance to Edgeville.

Also I'd throw up questions to a few things:

1) Lots of short sentences for no apparent reason

2) Guild Master is written inconsistently (eg some are capitalised, some not)

3) The description of Oziach's location seems a bit off "left of the entrance to edgeville" (missing capital) never really was all that accurate and now with the bridge and removal of lots of the fencing up the western edge surely it should be "on the western side of Edgeville, near the wilderness wall"

Heya,

I've made a few changes to clarify certain parts. Nothing important was changed really, but there shouldn't be any of the ambiguity there once was. I've credited Sy Accursed and madoracle, so thanks for your help.
