I think I'll wait 'til I'm home, doesn't sound like something I should play in the middle of class.

It's just violins. No vocals. :) But yeah, might be a good idea.

mfw you choose kiss as an example of good classic rock

There's a reason why Kiss has been popular for decades. Though I could just as well have used Mötorhead.

And I am not part of the Bieber generation, not what can be called that here at least, I was lucky enough to miss that by two years so even the girls of my generation realize how much he sucks.

All those that listen to music not inspired by Techno and/or Classical agree, a song needs lyrics. Every single one from those that enjoy Pop and Hip hop, Rock ballads and Opera to Death and Black metal agree, a song needs lyrics.

All else is just scenic.

I don't even see how you can call them songs, a song is a lyric with a melody and tones. If there are no lyrics then there's either music or silence. If there is no melody then it's a speech. If there are no tones then it's a poem.

Music may not need lyrics, but songs do.

No, they don't. Music is the sound of of an insturment playing, a song is bringing all the sounds together. Or else we'd never play songs in band, or orchestra. It'd just be 'making music', which I don't agree with.

No one listens to operas for their libretto (lyrics). That's why the famous composers are the ones that make the music for the opera, not the one who writes the words. :P

Rocco, that's called a chorus. Although it does indeed take up most of that particular song.

[hide='I wanna Rock and Roll all night]

You show us everything you've got.

You keep on dancing and the leading gets hot.

You drive us wild, we'll drive you crazy.

You say you wanna go for a spin.

The party's just begun, we'll let you in.

You drive us wild we'll drive you crazy.

You keep on shouting, you keep on shouting:

[chorus]"I wanna rock and roll all night, and party every day.

I wanna rock and roll all night, and party every day." [/chorus]

You keep on saying you'll be mine for a while.

You're looking fancy and I like your style.

You drive us wild we'll drive you crazy.

You show us everything you've got.

Baby, baby, that's quite a lot.

And you drive us wild, we'll drive you crazy.

You keep on shouting, you keep on shouting:

[chorus]

[chorus]

[chorus]

[chorus]

[chorus]

[/hide]

It's a lot of repetition, but you can see that compared to some of today's music, that's still a lot of variation. It is also their only song with such excessive use of the chorus.

An other example of their songs would be Detroit Rock City.

[hide='Detroit Rock City]

I feel up tight on a Saturday night.

Nine o'clock and the radio's the only light.

I hear my song and it pulls me through.

It comes on so strong, tells me what I got to do.

I got to...

[chorus]Get up, everybody's gotta move their feet.

Get down, everybody's gonna leave their seat.[/chorus]

You gotta lose your mind in Detroit, rock city.

[chorus]

Getting late, I just can't wait.

Ten o'clock and I know I gotta hit the road.

First I drink, then I smoke.

Start the car, and I try to make the midnight show.

[chorus]

Moving fast down 95.

Hit top speed but I'm still moving much too slow.

I feel so good, I'm so alive.

Hear my song playing on the radio.

It goes...

[chorus]

There's a truck ahead, lights staring at my eyes.

Oh my god, no time to turn.

I gotta laugh, 'cause I know I'm gonna die.

Why?

[chorus]

[chorus]

[/hide]

Also, do you have any idea how many women that still worship Gene as a sex idol?

Retech, an people listen to opera for their stories, which are told as much by the presentation of the lyrics as the words themselves.

Kiss has more fans than any of the bands/artists you listed.

Leather pants were "obligatory" in Rock'n Roll.

Spitting fake blood is his version of breaking the guitar.

Makeup was originally so no one could recognize them (see: Slipknot's masks).

His tongue is real.

Rocco, I listened to the second track and it almost certainly wasn't sophisticated, it was fairly average in my opinion but it definitely isn't what one would call a sophisticated piece.

This is a really interesting video.
