Then again, it was made by Swedes. Referance to Scandinavian jokes, in Norway, Swedes are seen as equal to blondes, in Sweden I think the Danes are (though I have heard a Swedish one where the Swede is dumb) and I'm not really sure ehich way it goes in Denmark or even if they are rgat common.

tl;dr:

 

Nexaduro reported me for talking about an item in a video game called Creamy [rooster]. That particular report nearly got me banned because it was at a time when there was a lot of tension between Admins and members of this forum board, between me and Das in particular, I think. I actually wasn't trying to be immature when discussing this item (it was a new update, and I was talking about the update), so I'm sort of pissed.

 

Even if it wasn't like he was intentionally trying to get me banned, it still was pretty inconvenient. I was also a little annoyed because he was complaining and throwing a fit in an IRC channel that I was moderating because someone said something "offensive" and I refused to kick them. Something like that. Don't remember. Don't care.

It is, and that's why he annoys me, really. With him as a moderator, it's like he's going to go after everyone for some trivial BS because he's easily offended.

Andvari, I don't recall reporting you for that. Action taken against you for that isn't my fault, though I'm surprised you got anything more than a warning. :unsure:

 

And what do you mean, fit? I've never had a problem with Taverner talk, as a mod I'm supposed to report it and I would report anything on the forum that makes me uncomfortable when I was still a user. Even if someone did act offensive, I can't imagine I would "throw a fit" about it. I could be wrong, but I think you're remembering incorrectly Andvari.

 

And Earth, can please stop doing that? It's getting agitating, you keep making insulting assumptions (heh, fun combination of words) about my character.

 

And maybe I'm easily offended, Andvari, but I don't have to act on it. If something is against the rules, it's my job to deal with it, even if I simply mention the problem and it's context to another mod. If something makes me uncomfortable, then I'll react as a user.

There's nothing wrong with people reporting offensive content when they see it. You shouldn't be mad at the person who reported you, since all they're doing is trying to ensure that the rules are upheld.

 

Furthermore, please don't complain about moderators or moderator actions publicly as it's not appropriate. If you want to vent any frustrations or concerns that you have, you may PM an administrator. I also want to reassure you that all moderator actions are reviewed by administrators to prevent biased moderating, etc. As long as you abide by the rules, we shouldn't have a problem.

^ What earth said. Basically saying that you don't like him as a moderator and assuming that he's going to start doing x, y, z. You didn't mention any recent moderator actions but were more complaining about him being made a moderator in general, which is equally inappropriate ;)

I don't think so, I don't really see the problem either. If it's about me he's not criticising me for my actions anyways, I haven't done anything yet. :P

 

And I'm only human, everyone has faults. I understand the policy of avoiding moderator criticism, but this is just venting about old issues. Better to get it out now.

Rocco, that's ridiculous. As a Moderator, my job has nothing to do with seniority among the games of the Tavern. The title of Moderator isn't really a promotion, anyways. It's just a job, whereas for most people the forum is recreation.

 

I really try to have the Tavern's best interests at heart. Sure, I reported once or twice as a user. Why shouldn't I, if I feel uncomfortable? And this forum is growing, Rocco, it's not just about us anymore. It's about building a community.

Why is it inappropriate to calmly discuss the moderation of this subforum? It's no less appropriate than discussing who should moderate a game.

Discussing moderation itself (policies, strictness of moderation, etc.) is fine. But getting into specifics (moderator action or discussing individual moderators) is not okay. The reason for this is that saying "x shouldn't be a moderator" or "I don't like that x is a moderator because now they're going to do x, y and z" gets into moderator bashing and naming players in a negative light, both of which are against the Tip.it Forum Rules. Complaints should be PMed to administrators to avoid hurt feelings, undeserved bad reputations, further moderator bashing, etc.
