Has flipping changed somewhat

So i don't waste too much of your time I'll get to the point. I want to raise herblore to around 84 and make some extremes with that stew method I've read about.

i have about 37m from flipping last summer then i took a break, and i need around 50-60m to get the levels. (let me know if that sounds off.) Anyways I've come back again and well i can't seem to really get any item working like i used to. The market seems to have left me in the dust, as before i could get at least a 10k profit on some items and finish maybe 1m an hour. However now it seems that that range is reduced and it takes even longer for a trade to finish. Is there some new.... rule that might make it go a little faster? Is the whole flipping thing slower because of its popularity?(though i doubt that because people were doing it a lot way before i even started which was last year.)

I could sell my bandos, but the point is that I'd be broke anyways so I'd rather make enough to buy and build back.

I need to stop taking long breaks, every time i do there is always some new drastic change. Anyways thanks in advance to those who answer my slightly nooby question.

Yes, flipping is really bad nowadays. By now most people know about it, and many are willing to undercut in order for a faster trade resulting in less profit. The only items that are still somewhat good for flipping are spirit shields, Nex gear and rares. I've personally given up on GWD stuff, dragon claws, furies (and other similar items) and bulk items, because the effort simply isn't worth the low profit.

Before you can flip the expensive items that Leik mentioned, buying items that are in high demand, but have a really low ge limit are pretty good. You can put in a pretty low offer and buy from people that aren't aware of the buy limits, so they sell it really low. I'm just doing this for one item, and it's an easy 1-2m week for 0 effort, since I always buy it at the same price.

Well that really saddens me, i was hoping it was just me, but after weeks of trying i came here. Guess the obvious was in my face. I can only image the profits before i started, i mean i was making if i tried 1m an hour, but thats when it was just catching on to it years after it started. Would any of you care to "tip" me off in a better direction then. I have ok skills nothing great, i just want something that will pull in more than 1m a day.

So basically alongside flipping, finding an item thats high in demand, but a low limit for example a whip(since you can only buy 10) is a good way to make some extra cash. Yeah thats not bad i mean its extra money to do on the side, however in the future i'd like more than just 84 pray. Maybe some contruction or prayer or summoning...... Those three alone will require massive amounts of money. I knew i should've just toughed it out and made a bunch more money last summer. =(

Farming herbs along with dailies and MTK is a good place to start for "passive" money making. By passive I mean that you can't actively train them straight for say 1 hour.. can only do them part of the time.

For active money makers, green dragons in CT/wildy are pretty decent.

Well i already do dailies lol. So it seems the faster moneymakers are the old kill (insert monster name here). I was never too good at staying focused long enough for that. I wonder if the price gap, or profit will return during the summer when demand for things is better.

Nex gear used to be amazing money, as it sold 5m+ over ge most all the time so you could make lots from cs snipes. Recently there were huge coinshare barriers so it was a dead method, but the Tzhaar update/manipulators have increased the price above ge again, so if you have 2-300m+ look into that.

Edit: Looking at your stats, I'd recommend you get 65 dg then cannon blue dragons in the taverly resource dungeon, I got around 1.25m/hr profit doing that with similar stats to you.

In terms of cheap flippables, 10 zerker rings is an extremely fast and easy flip I do a couple of times a day, 20k margin a ring for 4-600k a day. Takes a couple minutes at most to put in the buy/sells. And I agree with leik on furies being absolutely terrible now.

yeah i know what you mean on the furies, didnt they used to have like a 100k profit? At least when i was doing it they did. If i recall last i checked the best i could find it was around 2k..... I have nowhere near enough to flip nex gear, and i always assumed things that high in price didn't move quickly enough to even be profitable without investing. Guess i'll look into cheaper nex gear, but with a measly 37m i doubt there is anything worth trying. I find it funny people keep saying to try items, but really armor and weapons are the only things you can really flip quickly and efficiently for good money.

90% of rs "flips" (or they like to think they do). People always hated when a merchant did not tell his items, and now you can see why. Furthermore, there are clan chats that give exact prices on nex and ss items and rares. In these chats, people will literally say "i just bought X item for X price and sold for X price"..... so 4 ppl in the chat cut the price and before you know it a divine (640m) barely has a 300k margin. Finally, a great deal of players have over 1b (or even max cash) so more people have acces to flipping gwd gear and nex and rares. It seems to me any noob with 350m runs right to flipping elys, assuming they should because they barely can afford to. The entire thing is idiotic and works against itself at this point.

With that said, flipping is still the best way to make cash in game. It sucks compared to what it used to be, but it couldn't last forever.

I am not a skiller, but i do some skills.
