Huge laggs in rs

So, after not playing for more than a year i decided to try rs again, but the first thing i noticed is the huge lagg. At resizable/med graphic settings my whole screen laggs. I can't play rs this way. And I'm quite sure i wasn't having this problem 1 year ago, when i played rs frequently.

 

Is there anyone else having this problem? or is it just me? I'm playing on a 1 year old laptop with a good graphical card btw.

 

Is there any way to solve this? Cuz if not, I'll be moving to another game quickly and i don't want that, i want to play rs again :shades:

Jagex are currently attempting to fix this issue. However, in the mean time, there's a few things you can do. Make sure you're either in OpenGL or DirectX mode, first of all, and secondly, turning off textures may help considerably. RuneScape will not look nearly as good, but it should fix that major problem.

Believe me, you're not the only one experiencing this. RS is suffering from huge FPS issues at the moment and has been for the last several weeks.

 

I don't think there's a whole lot of methods to stop or reduce these FPS issues.

Lower settings, make sure you're in OpenGL or directx, and fullscreen instead of resizable might help some. But the real issue is some bugs on jagex's end.

I'm experiencing similar problems in crowded areas. Am I doing something wrong? When I switch to one of those two options instead of "software," the problem becomes even worse!

Thanks all, followed the link but the solution offered didn't work for me. I guess all that's left is hoping that jagex will fix this soon...
