Best way to get crimson charms at my stats?

Dusk Souls

Recommended Posts

I really want to get 51 summoning for the Terrorbird, and from what I have heard and read crimson charms give the best XP at my level with Badgers pouch, the problem is that while I have enough cash to get the tertiary ingredients and the shards, I have already used all my crimson charms supplies. I know waterfiends are the best charms per hour; but I don't think my stats are enough to do worthwhile trips.

I have been considering Black Demons; but I am not sure if that would be the best option at my stats, are there any other options for a monster with a good crimson charm rate (more than 20%)?

I don't think you should focus solely on crimson charms right now, but rather gold and green charms.

If you've done smoking kills I suggest you continue slaying and collecting the charms. That's the way I did it anyway. Camping black demons and waterfiends is too hard at your level, unless you safespot and mage/range the black demons, but that's not very fast kills.

You could try fighting Jellies in the fremmenik slayer dungeon. They drop a lot of green charms and you could farm the hard clues for money.

I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come."

How necessary is smoking kills? I have all the requisites besides Ishtarin's Little helper and right now I am not in the mood for questing. I'll try the jellies to see how I fare though.

Yes, completion of smoking kills is a good idea.

Good idea, PereGrin, greaters are a good idea for crimsons. Fighting them in the Brimhaven dugneon is your best bet. Bring appropriate armour and pray melee protect. Don't forget coins and a hatchet to get into the dungeon as well. ;)

Sounds good. What gloves/cape are you using? Add me ingame and I can give you a fury. RSN same as on here.

You could kill black demons for charms quite well with money. There's a bunch of things you can do with lots of money :|. All of them involve cannoning pretty much. But I think they are still the best way, since you'll also get ranged xp. Money making can be a pain but if you set yourself to buy 500 cannonballs per day and do triple charms each week with 3500 cannonballs @ black demons you will get maybe 200 crims each time?

For greaters, the wild dogs will attack you which can be quite annoying for the first 15 minutes. I don't think there's a good alternate location though (apart from the wilderness).

I remember at 70 attack, defence and 75 strength, I began to do waterfiends at 89 combat. Then I stayed there until 88 strength at the time so honestly, you could always try it out and see how it goes.

For your level however, it'd be best to also collect gold and green charms too. Slayer is a good option as suggested but if you are impatient and rather hunt for the charms, I'd recommend Ankous. They have a decent gold charm drop rate as well as green I believe. You also make a bit of money off them too with their blood and death rune drops.
