so with the advent of free trade people knew there would be a downside in real world trading, but everyone seems to think it is worth it, as do I. The major downside is that when there is money to be made people will fill that niche, and with real world trading being a mass market companies are trying to fill their coffers in any way. One very popular way is for hackers to hack into someone's account and steal all their gold and sell it to these websites, which is UNDERSTANDABLE but absolutely despised, but we don't know if it as an abuse victim trying to get money to run away, or someone with a sick family member that is sick trying to earn money to get them help. I know that 99 percent of the time this is not the case, but stealing GP for profit is a financial motive, but the thing i truly don't understand is when someone hacks an account, steals the GP and expensive items, but what is truly despicable is when they drop your fire cape, chaotic weaponry, summoning charms and other items that cannot be retrieved and have taken alot of time to get. This recently happened to my friend and it's despicable. The fact that they only do it for the purpose of inflicting pain and anger to other players is SOCIOPATHIC. It is a textbook version of being a sociopath, and the part i don't understand, if someone has angered you wouldn't want to be able to see their reaction when they find out they had been a target for revenge? But in the tendencies of a narcissistic sociopath they are as close to happy as they can be in knowing that others are as miserable as they are, even though they do not realize that is the reason why they are doing it, unless they had been diagnosed and had it extensive therapy sessions. This literally is a TEXTBOOK version of narcissistic sociopathic behavior.

 

I AM NOT JOKING, OR BEING CUTE WHEN I SAY THIS BUT IF YOU HAVE DONE THIS, YOU SHOULD SEE A THERAPIST, BECAUSE THERE IS A VERY GOOD CHANCE THAT YOU WILL EVENTUALLY END UP IN A PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL OR PRISON. HALF OF THE PEOPLE DIAGNOSED WITH THESE TENDENCIES THAT HAVE NOT RECEIVED HELP GO TO EITHER OF THESE FACILITIES.

yea it didn't happen to me, it happened to a friend, and the hacker was a professional who didn't know him, he just dropped quest items, effigies (i think she had 1 of each), chaotics, fire capes (6 of them) and charms etc...

 

the thing is this guy did it just to make my friend miserable, with no financial motive only to make her angry/depressed... that is textbook narcissistic sociopathy... just so aggrivating.

Well if I was a hacker, I would be a "nice" hacker. I'd leave all your untradables alone and I'd even say sorry and bid you a good day in your notes lulz. Of course people who hack in the first place aren't good people so I'm not surprised. I'm guessing they get a kick out of knowing they made somebody upset.

 

But this kind of attitude isn't that unusual, you can find it in many aspects of the game. On top of my mind, I've been playing CW and people often bad-mouth people just before they die. Is it justified? Nope, something like 10vs1 is hardly something to be cocky about. Yet people do it, just to piss off the person dying. Or another example, people that kick you out of a dungeon before the boss, again just to piss you off with no real gain for them. No doubt this is partially because it is on internet and they know there will not be punished for their actions.

yeah i hate when people do it to me when i 3 items green drags, even though they end up wasting money since i always bring claws incase of a jerk, so they just lose, but they can get dbones but still lose money... and when they try at air obelisk, they get dclaw spec'd and almost die (i killed 2 people trying to get me there) but their rocktails cost more than the unpowered orbs they get... so i get that.

 

and you ghjkl... your pure evil... it's not contributing to evolution, it's pure narcissism because what you want is whatever you do to be the most important, impressive and envious but you probably have an inferiority complex, it's that you want when you do that is the few minutes you spent effecting someone's life you want it to be the most important and the 20-50 hours someone spends trying to replace what you have done they will have to recognize you.

I don't believe that the hackers that do it are pure evil psychopaths, i believe that they justify doing it to themselves for a reason you may find stupid. "This guy has got 99 agility, he must be addicted, if i drop his stuff maybe he'll quit and become the next president" or "Screw this guy! All his 99's are bot skills! Get out of my game, botter!"

 

...People are dumb, and these types of thought processes go a lot further than runescape.

I think people do it because it's "fun" to see or know the other person will be angry. Just think of all the television shows or scenes with someone becoming angry enough that they completely lose it. I'm sure many people have laughed at those.
