Infact, the better your stats and gear gets, the better the rapier becomes. (Due to the faster speed taking advantage of the better gear bonus, and the lower accuracy being balanced by your higher attack level) Any place where CLS beats rapier (Only extremely high defense creatures), the maul beats the CLS. So theres no reason to use CLS ever, unless you need to tank an extremely high defense creature with a shield. (Tanking is generally a bad idea now days.
