Currently at 85 Herblore, looking to get up to 92 or so so I can boost to overloads. What's the most cost-efficient thing to make?

I'm currently doing the same thing. What i've been told is to make around 500 spec restores and 500 super antifires, more or less depending on what you want to do. Once you are the level to make extremes, you should only make those. So in preparation for extremes I am making super attacks/super strengths right now. The prices have dropped significantly. You can use this to check prices of the herbs and secondaries.

I agree with Vleademir; once you hit 88 (or 87 if you want to boost, it's a pain though and will be slow) you should just make extremes.

 

88 to 89 is 456,519 xp, or 2075 extreme attacks.

89 to 90 is 504,037 xp, or 2191 extreme strengths.

90 to 91 is 556,499 xp, or 2318 extreme defences. However, many people only make extreme defences for overloads, due to EEE being a decent alternative. In that case, you may wish to make as many as you think you'll need for overloads and then the rest more attacks/strengths or boosting for magic/ranged extremes.

Why make spec restores? I'm not sure what I'd really be using them for, and according to Grimy's info they lose a lot more then Super Antifires. And on that note, the best way to make super antis is to just buy the antifires, not make the antifires myself?

Special recovers are nice.. can use them with eee for healing or of course for more combat special attacks.

 

As for making normal antifires, only bother with it if they are a good gp/xp.. otherwise, yeah, just buy them.

Well, the catch with super antifires is that the phoenix feathers are untradable, so they're pretty slow what with the extra time to pickpocket them.
