April 24, 201214 yr 1) I'm F2P and honestly, if I started viewing their video ads for every world hop, they would probably make as much effective revenue off me as a P2P player.2) These ads won't exist if you use the official game client.3) I don't mind seeing ads but I'm sure those car insurance or tabloid news "discoveries" are bringing in comparatively little. Can't they get some better sponsors? "Fight for what you believe in, and believe in what you're fighting for." April 24, 201214 yr Wow, Jagex is really going for every cash grab they can think of now. I won't be surprised if there's a gold shop by the end of the year. That's because you're grasping for reasons to complain about them. True. I seriously doubt that Jagex would implement anything like that. OT: This doesn't seem too strange to me. It's just a new type of advertisement. You don't pay for playing the game = You get to see ads. Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak

You have to actually click the ads or purchase something from that advertisers to get anything as a publisher. You can sit and watch those ads all day for a month if you want I'm confident that you still won't make Jagex equivalent money to a p2p member.3) It depends if Jagex earn any commission (or even just a share of it) from the insurance companies who often can pay out as much as £50 for a new policy. I don't know what you mean by Tabloid news discoveries? If you mean stuff like acai berrys for weight loss on fake news websites those are scams and you should report them to Jagex so they can make sure they are removed. April 24, 201214 yr Advertisements work not because people click on them, but because they are pervasive and we assume that they have no effect on us. This is not true. Advertisement isn't about getting clicks. The thing the advertisement companies want to see is people who say they can simply ignore the advertisements.
