Death Spawns and Chaotic Weapon Degradation

Simple question, but one that I can't find an answer for.... Do Death Spawns count towards degrading Chaotics? You may recall that Death Spawns aren't truly combat since you can still Home Teleport as well as log out while they are attacking you, but then again, they are dealing damage to you. If anyone knows, I'd like some sort of an answer.

Also while on the topic.... Should I be canceling Nechs?

Nechs aren't worth it unless you have at least an iron titan imo, otherwise they are just too slow. Though I suppose you could chin if you really needed ranged xp.

I can't answer your first question, but it shouldn't be hard to test.

I have no idea but that is a great question o.o

As for canceling them, Ive always kept them as a task but mainly for the crimson charms.

I'd honestly cancel nechs without iron/steel titan. Unless you feel like burst/chinning for some good mage/range xp.

Otherwise, yeah they aren't really worth it.

Is bursting them at all effective? I do need to get my magic level up, and I have always enjoyed wasting my money on Ancients.

It's just as effective as chinning is, if not slightly more so. I'd still bring a PPS or something to lure though, that's a bit of a standing problem with chin/burst nechs since they aren't aggro.

Don't bother with mage-boosting prayers, they're pretty useless in nearly every situation in the overworld.

Melee protect is fine. You'll need a bunyip though, unless you're willing to flick SS and even then it might be risky unless you're in Ganodermic armor. It's much easier to just use a bunyip so you can tank the death spawn hits.

Yes they do.Don't forget mage pots btw. Overloads if you got em, even if you don't typically use them for slayer.

(I realise you finished the task) If you're going to chin/ancient nechryrael I believe if you target the death spawns kills are faster, as (I believe) all 9 hit splats count on the accuracy of the target. Similar to how magic damage percent boost doesn't help the other eight targets.

thinking about this logically, death spawns do give xp when you attack them, they do not give slayer xp but whatever combat you use on them they give xp along with prayer xp if you are using urns.. So since they give combat xp, lets say you are melee'ing them, your chaotic weapon should degrade.
