Is Bandos really worth it?

Heyy, recently i've been doing alot of slayer and i'm close to 99 defence, but after this i was looking at going for 99 strength, at the moment i've been using barrows as im not to fussed about the cost repairing it as im not grindning and the cost isn't alot, and i don't generally have to worry about it breaking halfway through a task. But since i'll be 99 defence and using super sets, i don't think i'll need the extra defensive stats, so would the offensive stats be that helpfull towards strength for the money? Money isn't really an issue as i can afford it quite easily, but i'm not sure if it's actually worth the money. Cheers :)

95 Prayer and the level for extreme potions would be more beneficial if you're willing to take the time to get them. I have a feeling a berserker ring is better value per strength bonus too, but don't have time to check right now.

Before you get bandos, ask yourself whether or not you have extremes or fury first. Both of those offer a greater strength boost compared to their lesser counterparts (supers/glory), but for less than the cost of bandos.

I have a fury, but a low herblore level, after 99 defence i might level up herblore, and i s'pose theres a free 250k exp soon so that might help a bit towards it. Cheers :)

As far as spending money goes I would say: Fury > Zerker > Extremes > Turmoil > Bandos

However it is important to remember that Bandos is not money completely gone as it is with extremes. I'm a bit out of date on prices etc.. but lets say Bandos costs 40m and to get extremes will cost 60m. Until you have earnt the extra 20m for extremes you may as well buy Bandos and use it. Though if you're unlucky the price of Bandos may depreciate a bit it is better to have that benefit than no benefit. However once you've made the extra 20mil you would then of course sell the Bandos and buy extremes.

Got your fury and zerker backwards there :P. Unless you do a lot of Kuradal tasks.

 

Really you should get zerker > fury > Bandos

If you can buy extremes, get them (sell equipment).

If you can get turmoil, again sell equipment and get it.

On an uncovered note, the defense from barrows is never needed in slayer, anything that hits so high that unicorn/soul split/bunyip doesn't cover it you should pray against. You should be using prayers anyway for the att and str boost so you'll already be using prayer potions (which are dirt cheap right now anyways).

 

Veracs is the only set that has use and that's due to its prayer bonus. Prossy works just as well for that and can be substituted.

 

Tldr : never use barrows, prioritize str bonus and prayer bonus.

I don't really need a zerker ring due to the majority of my tasks being inside kuradels dungeon, the ferocious ring is better. So i think im gunna gunna get 99 defence and then im going to go for extremes, maybe overloads if i have the patience, i might wait till september for the double exp for 95 herb. Then after that i'll try for 95 pray, but thats gunna cost alot :c. But cheers, the helps been much appreciated. :)

This is pretty irrelevent. The cost of prayer potions is so negligible that you would be getting better killspeed with tassets. Not a whole lot faster but enough to justify the extra prayer pot cost

Yeah you are right about the prayer pots but I just don't like having to use them all the time. I do have all the other gear, rapier, fury, zerker etc. I probably should use tassets but w/e. :P

At some point the small increases at higher costs become annoying. Especially when you're looking at Moblising Armies for +4 strength or Dominion Tower for +1 strength (also tassets/claws back when they were 25m+). Can't blame anyone for just quitting the whole drive for max strength.

or at least a prossy skirt, you really don't need the defense if you already have a BCP
