Reinscorpion
As there is no point in training skill after 99 except for ranks (not including dung ofc), I've come up with a little idea that at least gives it some use. Well, who doesnt hate 'pot doors' in dung, or it's less xp, or it slows you down, right? Well what if the xp after 99 gives you the level it would be without a level cap in dung? For example if you have 24m smith xp, you would have 105 smithing, being able to open smith doors without having to pot. I know this only covers levels 100-109/110 but it's a start Let me know what you think.
Powerfrog
I like the idea of xp after 99 being useful, i really do. BUT. No. The whole point of the 105 doors is to MAKE you use pots, that is their purpose. Plus you'd get the dungeoneer speed runners that would be livid about requiring like 20m xp in every skill for this advantage.

True, it makes herblore in dungeoneering a lot less useful, didn't think that one through.
Im Krazy
Honestly, I think they should do something for xp after 99, doing this? Not so sure about, but it's a nice idea.
Cheefoo
Every 1m xp you gain past level 99 gets you a congratulatory cupcake. Lord Slayas
I like the idea of only xp extending past 99, it makes training it more of a personal goal instead of a level goal. It would be nice if having the hypothetical level would allow you to open those annoy dg doors, but i really doubt jagex would even consider it. Sir_Squab
Every 1m xp you gain past level 99 gets you a congratulatory cupcake.Best suggestion ever. In all honesty, getting 99 in a skill... well I wouldn't call it hugely difficult or a giant accomplishment or something, but it is something that takes a lot of time and effort to acquire. (More about time then effort really.) And remember with like, 24 skills, making exp useful after 99 makes a huge impact on completionist capes or max capes - afterall, if exp is useful after 99 (besides highscores) and you -only- have 99 in all skills, you aren't truly maxed. Also, effort into making skills more useful should be applied BEFORE level 99, since most skills are useless in and of themselves. DG, diaries and quests alone don't count for useful content in a skill. Like smithing. Outside of DG, what the hell does smithing offer? And with the way DG is now, it's only useful for opening doors, not making armour. (I mean, SOMEONE being able to make the armour is nice, but they only need to do it once...) Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.[spoiler=The rest of my sig. Jebrim
Well not even ranks matter anymore, the reason people train past 99 is for the prestige of the Xp itself, not for any tangible reward. MrNoGo
I believe that it would be a great idea if they revamped the skills completely where you do extend the skills to 120 (keep everything as it is, just add a second trimmed cape for 120). OR add another cape trim for those with 200m xp (or add different trims/addons to the capes for every 25m xp).
