99 Slayer.

Recommended Posts

I'm going to take a guess and say it is. Depending on the amount of time you play per day, number of tasks, types of tasks, any extra xp you may get, just a number of variables. I'm sure Quyneax will be able to help more than I am able to

Finally on here to update that I have officially quit! It's been fun.

Of course it's possible. It's possible to get 99 in one month from level 1.

For 99 slay you need approximately 5,3M xp, so you need to average ~177k per day which is 3-5 hours slaying per day depending on your methods (and if you put effigy lamps on slay or not).

Don't forget to do daily tasks that give slayer xp, i.e. jade vine, etc.

To speed it up use:

Extremes / Overloads, Turmoil / Augery, Steel / Iron Titan and cannon on every task possible.

Also make sure your block list is set up correctly.

I'd love a little list of stuff to block :D

Post from Hedgehog on the 12th of July 2012:

You'll want to prioritize blocking the most common tasks. In your case, I'd recommend:

Ganodermic creatures (Before 95)

Abyssal demons

Dark beasts

Ice strykes (drop fire cape/tokhaar before getting a task)

Gargoyles

Nechryaels

Grotworms

Skip:

Fire Giants

Living rock creatures (You can cannon, but I'm not sure that they're fast)

Spiritual mages

Iron dragons

Warped Tortoises

Jungle Strykewyrms

Mutated Jadinkos

Steel dragons

Desert Strykewyrms

Vyrewatch

Blue Dragons

Skeletal Wyverns

You'll notice that a lot of tasks are skipped. You probably won't have enough points to keep up with that, so I suggest doing wyverns, dark beasts (afk), and blues if you need the money.

Just so you have different opinions, in general I agree with what has been said, with some exceptions

Tasks I almost always did:

Dark Beasts - after the temple quest, you can cannon them, while meleeing, easily a 40-50k/h task, while being relatively AFK

Ice Strykes - cannon with fire surge - similar xp to dark beasts

Vyrewatch - with 500 corpses burnt it is a quick, almost 100% AFK task, all you gotta do is keep potting that ovl

Tasks I sometimes did when I needed points or a change of scenery:

Fire giants - CT with highest fighting fam

Gargoyles - Kuradal's dungeon - semi AFK

Blue dragons - Kuradals dungeon, no banking

Nechryals - CT with highest fighting fam

Even at 95 slayer All ganodermic tasks should be on permablock imo.

Dark beasts shouldn't be blocked. They are faster xp/hr than the average slay xp/hr, (assuming 50k average here) and reduce the time spent making pouches.

Again, ice strykes shouldn't be blocked. Cannon with max mage offense makes them near enough the average slay xp/hr, and they significantly reduce the gp/xp cost of slayer. With the new +% damage robes I'm guessing they're even faster now.

Iron and steel dragons, and abyssal demons, should all be done with soa. The slay xp/hr might be slightly under 50k/hr, but the charms/hr more than make up for it with the improved kph from using soa over rapier.

You never run out of points that way also.

Edit: If you have plenty of slayer points and want to get 99 ASAP, use Duradel/whatever his replacement is instead of Kuradal. His tasks are actually better slay xp/hr than Kuradal's, you just can't sustain it for a long period time without a decent amount of slayer points.

Don't spend poiints to skip ice strykes. Drop your tokhaar before you get a task for a free block. If you have a ton of capes, this obviously isn't viable. Do them in that case.

I personally don't block dark beasts, and I think you'll run out of points if you do.

Abyssals and nechs should be skipped/blocked if you're 99 summ, otherwise do them.

Irons, steels, and other dragons should really only be done if you can kill them with regular antifire, but even then they're pretty crappy. Do blacks regardless.

I wouldn't block dark beasts or bother with skipping ice strykes as they are over 50k xp/hr and have decent effigy rates. Strykes are also one of the few profitable tasks, which helps.

Abyssals are nice with Storm of Armadyl, but if you are spending that much money on slayer, your list is completely different anyway.
