runescapenoob101
Hello there. I am kind of new to the game (the pve side) of it anyway and was wondering what the minimum skill requirements for barrows is? Money is not a problem, so items etc can be bought as long as they are not 50M+ but I have heard you do not need that good gear for the actual event. Please could anyone specify what the lowest requirements for barrows is e.g. attack 50? Also is it possible to actually do barrows without "ancients" magic? I dont have allot of quest points aka only done 2-3 quests ): I would like to go full mage if possible. Thanks allot!
Hedgehog
To do it reasonably well, 80 magic for a polypore staff is the only major requirement. 70 defense for ahrim's or 40(?) for mystic would be beneficial, but not necessary. 43 prayer would help a lot, especially if you're a low level. Consider doing the morytania quest series to get there faster. It's extremely remote if you've only done priest in peril.
Low Levelled
You've done 2-3 quests, but have 50m+... Wut?
runescapenoob101
Thanks for the quick replies! So I dont actually need desert treasure to finish barrows? 70 Defense and 80 Magic - Is that all? I have IRL friends that play who will give me money (i hope.) Also is it possible to do barrows in a 2 man party? Thanks again!
runescapenoob101
Bump!
Tui
Technical requirements, assuming you're level 1 in all other stats, would simply be 43 prayer. The recommendations in this thread are for efficient barrows. If you're bored, try a run with lots of prayer potions and whatever spell you can use. Hedgehog
Hi Tui Also, other people can come, but they have to kill their own set of brothers.
Tui
Yes but they will not be with you the entire time and will not be able to kill the monsters for you.
runescapenoob101
Ah right I see, so it is quite easily possible with 80 mage, 40 defence and 43 prayer? What items would I need to bring? 10 Prayer pots and allot of sharks?
Tui
yes, that would be fine
Hedgehog
It's probably worth praying against all 6 brothers.
runescapenoob101
Oh right ok. Also do you know what the fastest way to get 70 defence is? Is it faster to level STR/ATK with defence or just aim for pure defence?

Tui
it is faster to raise att and str first since you'll inevitably want them at decent levels anyway, much more efficient
runescapenoob101
Ok. What level's would you suggest I level attack and Strenght till first before i attempt 70 defence? runescapenoob101
Is it quicker to train shared XP or individual?
Quyneax
You get the same amount of xp per damage total, but strength and attack increase your damage output more than defence, so focused training on those is best. Attack is only good if you unlock new weapons. Komodo_Jo
Lol, this reminds me of years ago when I first started doing Barrows. When I started I couldn't even equip most (maybe any?) barrows items. I was using mystic, rune, and blue dragonhides with MSB & rune arrows for Ahrim, and walking there from Varrock east bank! I could manage 1 loot per trip, and each trip took me a good half hour. So primitive compared to nowadays...
