October 16, 201213 yr From what I've heard, (have not tried) you could use the polypore staff to quickly get through the cave with much ease. the requirements for it is 80 magic, but not sure how much it costs. hope this helps. (first post)

If you have trouble prayer switching, you can stock up on as much damage soak% for mage as you can and then protect range and soak the damage, but that will be tricky if you don't have the eagle eye kite shield. October 17, 201213 yr You can try getting Ward of Subjugation for the Magic absorb, it isn't as much as Eagle-eye kiteshield (which gives 14%), it doubles as a decent mage off hand (+16 magic attack, +1 prayer, +1 magic damage and 6% magic Damage soak). October 18, 201213 yr Gano: 85 magic/defPolypore: 80 magicSubjugation: 75 magic/def The ward gives a 1% damage boost.I think other alternative shield slot items would be a book or blessed spirit shields. These ones do require quests, Horror from the deep and summer's end.
