FA Premier League Copyright

Hey, i have a youtube channel for football compilations. In my previous videos i have had no problem with PL copyright claims even though it contains alot of PL content. In my most recent video, it keeps getting blocked even for PL copyright even though pretty much every video has PL content in it and my previous videos do as well and its pretty much the same as my previous videos.

Anyone have any idea why for this particular video? Is it because it has the scoreboard? The source for my clips remains the same.

How many times are you going to post questions about this subject and get the same answer each time?

This is a completely different post, the other was about monetisation not videos getting taken down. My videos are different now, before they displayed logos and socreboards and dint get taken down then one did, so all my new ones dont have any logos or scoreboards yet get taken down. Any ideas why?

The other post might have been about monetization but your problem is still the same: copyright (aka why you couldn't monetize one of your videos before...)

Why was my video removed for copyright while similar videos were not?

When we are notified by an authorised representative of the copyright holder that a particular video uploaded to our site infringes another's copyright, we respond promptly, as the law requires. If videos remain on the site that appear similar to the one(s) we've removed, the chances are that we are either not aware of them or do not have reason to believe they are infringing. Sometimes a copyright owner authorises some, but not all of its works to appear on our site. Other times, very similar videos are owned by different copyright owners and one may grant permission while another does not.

Using some copyrighted content in your videos

It's possible that you may be permitted to include small excerpts from copyrighted material in your video if what you intend to use is insubstantial or is incidentally included, or where the intended use you have for the copyrighted material falls within a exception or limitation to copyright under the law in your country.

We can't give you advice on either of these topics, and if you do plan to use even a small portion of copyright material in your video we'd strongly advise you to take legal advice first.

If you're going to post anything on YouTube containing any footage from a Premier League game, or even the Championship and lower divisions, you can bet your bacon the FA will act to take it down pretty quickly. TV rights essentially fund the whole game, from the top right down to grassroots level, therefore they have to be very protectionist about people, basically, stealing their work and posting it for others to view freely. You can't post a fixture list these days without paying for a license to publish it--not even Wikipedia get away with it because they're a charitable organisation.

Just because it's entertainment and just because you give credit to the original copyright holders, doesn't mean it qualifies under "free use".
