RS Client help

That is not enough information provided to help you. We would need to know what causes it to close (startup? login? lobby?) as well as any other related information you could give us.

Just when I play... dohh.

Try not hitting alt+f4... dohh.

But seriously, you have to tell us what OS, java version, and browser.

You make it sound like running through a few level 87 monsters is hard which it really shouldn't be at your level.

Same thing happens to me. I have the latest version of Java, run it through the dl client on a win7. It seemingly closes at random and when I load the client again I have no trouble. This happens about every 6 or so hours of game time.

If it happens every 6 hours, are you sure it's not simply the game automatically logging you out?

THE place for all free players to connect, hang out and talk about how awesome it is to be F2P.

So, Kaida is the real version of every fictional science-badass? That explains a lot, actually...

It's not exactly 6 hours, that's a rough estimate. And it's not just a log out, the entire client closes. Is it normal for the game to log you out though?

Yes, the game automatically logs you out after 6 straight hours. Playing for more than 6 hours isn't very good for you anyway. ;)

I feel like this is phrased wrong. Either that, or I'm just lucky. The only way I get "kicked" after 6+ hours is if I world hop or lobby/citadel.

And the client doesn't close, just goes back to the login screen. So I can't say I have any experience with random closings.

Yeah, sorry about that. Upon rereading, it's a might confusing. I was replying to the part where he asked if it automatically logged you out. It's just supposed to log you out though, not close the client.

It sounds like an issue with your Java.

Your client crashed. Personally using directx mode fixed it. You may try clearing cache and updating graphics drivers.

You need to allocate more memory to your client.

Find the file runescape.prm from your computer, open it with a text editor and give the client some more freedom.

This is what I have for example, those numbers may not be the best for your machine but mine runs just fine and the sudden 'closure' stopped:

-Djava.class.path=jagexappletviewer.jar
-Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true
-Dcom.jagex.config=http://www.runescape.com/k=3/l=$(Language:0)/jav_config.ws
-Xmx1024m
-Xss2m
-XX:CompileThreshold=1500
-Xincgc
-XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC
-XX:+UseParNewGC
jagexappletviewer

Nothing to do with the 6hour autolog fellas.

Thanks guys, i'll give all these solutions a go.
