Java 7 Update 11 - is it safe to update from Java 6 ?

i'm not sure how far back the exploit goes but you should probably update just to be safe

either way each update is just a flat reinstall so there shouldn't be any major issues with that

1.7 still isn't safe yet. It was announced that version 11 did not completely fix the issue so people with it are still at risk. Best to stick at 1.6 for the foreseeable future.
