Dragon Armour

Featured Replies

I have been off runescape for around 8 months and was wondering how dragon armour is so cheap now.

It is cheap because it is useless, but it is really expensive for what it does so nobody uses it.

What does this have to do with the OP?

Oh right so what is the best armour to buy then?

Level based gear, that's why.

Yeah that didn't help.

It's useless to you because you're levelled past it, yet to the OP it could be the best they can use. Less high level attitude more helping OP plz.

As Caco said, buy the highest tier armour you can use. As for the best, there is debate over whether Player Owned Ports or Nex armour is the best, I'll leave that up to you to decide.

Combat style matters much more now, so ideally you'll want a set of armour for each combat style.

I would say as your levels increase

Nex > GWD armors > Barrows, etc

He's right though, it may be the best he can use, but people with 60 defence can usually not afford the high cost of dragon, in that sense is is useless.

In that sense, it has always been useless.

Even back in the day a fighter torso + dplate legs sufficed perfectly. You never needed that ridiculously over priced Dplate body.

And dfh??? Nezzy ftw.

Which is essentially the same circumstance here. Dragon gear was only ever worth so much purely because of its rarity and nothing else.

It was once the highest tier armor in the game, and the difference in armor rating between dragon and barrows was negligible for most combat. The dragon chain was just so rare that barrows was just cheaper, and I'm pretty sure that the DFH was made to be a cosmetic item just like the D Kite.
