February 16, 201313 yr Today I received a large (200+) black demon slayer task from Kuradal. Seeing as they are weak to range (and attack with magic), and having crystal bow (9), fsh, royal d'hide body + chaps, rfd gloves 10 and whatever boots, I figured it would be a stroll in the park. Except I was wrong. I am forced to use regenerate every 3-5 kills, seeing the vast amounts of damage these demons do. Moreover, I am only fighting them one at a time... I do kill demons fast (few to several hits), but even during that time, I am losing HP extremely fast.Would karil's/armadyl armor solve this issue, seeing as they are level 70 instead of 65? Or does this effectively mean I will need truckloads of food, healing familiar pouches and prayer potions to complete this task? Also, bots seem to be using an inferior melee setup (granite, dragon) and not doing any worse. Perhaps I should switch to melee (this would effectively confirm that black demons ignore magic resistance)? R.I.P. oO000oO0oO00, RS2 range pure transformed to a maxed PvM char in EoC, ten years of time completely wasted.Good to be gone :)
February 16, 201313 yr Try using bolts instead of arrows. I don't seem to have issues with health doing that task in royal dhide with my royal crossbow.
February 16, 201313 yr I use armadyl and don't take any damage at all really.Looking at your stat siggy, why the heck are you using a Crystal bow, which costs more, and is less effective at something weak to specifically bolts, instead of black salamander + harralander tar?Or even better... royal cross bow + royal bolts.That 90 herblore screams at me to tell you to go get an rcb... now....... Like... right now....
February 16, 201313 yr Melee would work perfectly fine, chaotic maul for instance. Black demons aren't strong enough for the difference to be huge. If you aren't using extremes and Rigour yet, that should help too. Don't ever rely on regenerate though, bring a bunyip with scrolls and some raw food. February 16, 201313 yr I have despised these devils since even before I got my cape. After I got 99 summoning, I blocked them. I cleared my block list after EOC though, because I figured maybe I would find new tasks to hate. I did, but I digress. If you can get yourself a royal crossbow, do it. It will make a big difference. If not, black salamander is still miles above rune, and is a good choice on tasks weak to bolts. ... one can dream, right? ... See my blog!
