Need help- Got banned

Featured Replies

Hi,

2 days ago I got perma banned for allegedly goldfarming on my account, 'Danni111111'. I've tried appealing and e-mailing Jagex, but I've been told that they don't really look over appeals for this sort of thing.

The thing is, if anyone does actually look into it, they'll realise that I've not been doing anything strange- In the 2 weeks before the ban, I had been doing quests and trying (and failing) to kill various bosses, and generally mucking about with all the new features that came in during my extended break from Runescape.

The only possible reason I can think of is that as I'm based in Shanghai, they might have been treating me suspiciously, which is fair enough I guess. I've also been using a virtual private network software called 'Astrill' so that I can actually access facebook and youtube- and it's possible I ended up using a proxy server that other goldfarmers had been using, although I'm not sure if Jagex bans based on IP.

The problem is, I'm not sure how I can get Jagex to look into it. If anyone has any suggestions, I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: I'm not trying to push the fact that I'm innocent of this, and I'm sure many of you think I've probably been goldfarming. I'm just trying to find out how to get Jagex's attention. Sorry if it seems I'm sounding like a bit of a dick.

You are not the only person I know this has happened to, there was another guy's account on this forums that has location based in China, and got banned, twice (first time was an 'accident', the second was permanent), and he had a less 'susicious' name than yours (the string of 1's as your character name, unfortunately, might have set flags).

I think the other guy gave up on the game entirely. Not sure what I would suggest, considering that their anti-gold farming policy seems to be "Rather kill innocents than let the guilty get away"...

Doesn't sound too good for me then :(.

Although I've had this account for nearly a decade- I would have though they would consider that too.

Try to contact Jagex employees outside of the Account Help section. There are probably community management people on, like, Twitter or something, and you can do some research to see if there are any email addresses you can write to.
