Bouwzie
Hi there everyone, I just came back from a 3-4 year break and I have no idea what all this EoC stuff is. I see my combat level has changed and that there are abilities now. I heard I could just use Momentum to make training a bit more relaxed. I want to get my melee stats up to 90 (all are 87 right now), but I don't really have an idea of what armour and weapons are good at the moment. Could anyone tell me what I should use? I have 25m to spend on armour and weapons, I hope that's enough. EDIT: Also, what a good site to track my xp on? Thanks in advance.
Quyneax
Don't bother with Momentum until you've tried ability combat & you're sure you hate every bit of it. It's several times slower than abilities. Good armour is still Bandos (+slayer helm for slayer ofc), good weapons are chaotic claw + ee off-hand or drygore weapons + ee/drygore off-hand (90 attack for drygores, so you just get cclaw). Runetrack and Runetracker are both good tracking sites. Bouwzie
Thank you for the advice :) Sadly, I don't have access to chaotic weapons, I'm only 32 dungeoneering and so far, I don't really care for it. Might be useful to get up in the future, but I'd have to study it for a bit. Whips are dirt cheap so I take it they aren't that good anymore. What's the best non-dungeoneering weapon for me to use? Galasrin
Any godwars item would be alright(z spear, ss, any godsword). You could buy a vine whip to enhance the whip with EE for offhand. Though before I got dygores I preferred z spear personally.
Th e Doctor
Vinewhip with ee offhand is your best bet until you can afford drygores assuming you will refuse to do dungeoneering. Armor you will want includes GWD sets, saradomin whisper and murmur (melee and range ammys) along with an arc stream if you do dg, or the other saradomin ammy for mage if you refuse to. For rings just go to The World Wakes and it's quest recommendations to get a 6th age circuit, it's basically a free onyx (i) unless you have MA rings already then its warriors, seers, and archers all (i) You get massive accuracy penalties for using the wrong body, legs, and shield for your style (using magic chest legs and shield while meleeing for example) but no accuracy penalty for the helm, boots, gloves, ring, and amulet slots. Feel free to add in other styles here if you need more than 1 style of defense (really only applies to some bossing situations). For slayer or regular training just use the gwd boots and gloves for the damage boost. That's pretty much it for melee, I would recommend doing it through slayer. I would also recommend doing DG for a chaotic claw. You can basically ignore most monster weaknesses once you have t8+ equipment. Armadyl Drops : 4 Hilts; 3 Chestplates; 2 Chainskirts; 1 Helmet; 1 Buckler; 2 Shard 1; 2 Shard 2; 1 Shard 3Nex : 1 Zaryte BowKalphite King : 1 Drygore Rapier ; 1 Drygore Longsword : 1 Drygore Offhand Rapier : 1 Drygore Offhand Longsword
Bouwzie
Thank you, that advice was great :) I decided to go with Vine Whip and EE, Whisper amulet and Bandos boots. For the ring it will be pretty hard to do all those quests, so I will do those later. Thanks again :)
