Shadiggs
Hello , I'm wondering which armour and weapon are good for training slayer plus (att, str, def) while doing slayer as well. Since i'm low level in slayer skill I think for the beginning my current armour (Guthix) will work fine for now but later when I get higher I don't think it's a good option to go through. I was thinking to buy Bandos full set in the future and bandos godsword, what do you guys think about it? Feel free to post anything.
Sy_Accursed
Bandos, Armadyl, Subjugation + Chaotics are a good basis. If you can afford d claws to make chaotic claws you don't really need any other melee ones (plus less tokens)Dual ccbs are a nice base for range, if you can beat QBD royal xbow is a good cheap alternate.Chaotic staff is about as good as you can get for mage unless you have many many millions to drop of virtus wand + book or seismic. 1 Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
Yak-scythe
Don't really need high level gear for slaying.I generally use cheap welfare gear to slay or barrows.Melee: I generally use Torags with warpriest boots and gloves with fury and dual rapiers.Range: Full royal or karils with Royal CrossbowMagic: Full batwing gano boots and gloves and polypore staff.Generally efficient and effective enough for all task's except special ones like Jad. Runescape is a haven..
chenw
Gwd armor are certainly worth buying, the depreciation of their value over time, if any, is about the same (if not less than) as the cost of upkeep of your Barrows and Ganodermic armor, and besides you don't really need any defence for slaying (by slaying, I assume you mean training slayer, not killing things for cash etc), but the damage will help. The amount of time you are going to use it will pretty much make GWD pay for itself. With regards to DG weapons, my take is: If you already have the tokens to burn, buy them, if you have to work for them, don't bother, there are better things out there you can work towards that yield better results. 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. I wouldn't agree with this.Whilst you can work towards t90 they cost a heck of a lot and are kinda overkill for slaying so may not even be worth aiming for ever if you only pursue slayer.Meanwhile t70 or t75 weps are a step down in the efficiency of killing, especially for the higher level stuff in later slayer tasks. And quite simply there are not other options out there for much of it.Chaotics are only t80 melee choice.Staff is 1 of 2 t80 mage choices, the other one costing massive amounts.Crossbows are 1 of 3 choices for ranged - RCB will be slightly lower dps (with abilities) but is much cheaper/efficient to get as long as you can manage QBD. Zaryte is again insanely expensive. So whilst you can easily dodge the bullet as it were for ranged via RCB if you don't have 71mil+ to burn you are not doing yourself any favours for mage and melee. Not to mentioned you can abuse sinkholes etc. to easily get the lower levels of dg done then be at a point where getting tokens for a chaotic is quite easy to do. chenw
You are also forgetting the repair cost of Chaotics, which none of the T75 has (polypore has upkeep, but its upkeep is negligibly small compared to chaotic staff), which again will eat into profits, so unless the 7% improvement of T75 over T80 (assuming accuracy here is non-issue for most slayer targets, not including boss slayer targets like KBD etc), is enough to cover the 3M per 10 hours or so combat, then I actually don't see any point in using chaotics at all, especially considering they are not in the top tier. The figure of 7% improvement is gotten from T80/T75, which completely ignores combat downtime (which decreases the improvement % if it did) or the strength/power armor contribution (if any, it again lowers that % down). 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. Quyneax
Chaotics last much longer than 10 hours and the dps boost is pretty noticeable. Recharging with tokens is a good option as well. It may not be worth getting 90+ dungeoneering to get those weapons for slayer only, but they have other uses and dungeoneering is worth training for other reasons (max, comp, for fun, for 99 etc.). Th e Doctor
What're your stats? It's silly for us all to be talking about chaotics if you're only lvl 70's for combat stats. I would reiterate what some people have already said. Get the GWD armor if you're going to slay. If you do not have chaotics and are low on cash I would say go work on DG whilst herb farming every 1.5 hours for extra cash. By the time you get your chaotics (get claws for melee first as you have no other options for t8 melee, the others aren't worth getting) you should have the cash for good armor and supplies to get to slaying with. For mage its best to slay with a wand of treachery/ahrims book rather than go with any higher leveled staffs until you can get virtus/seismics (lol who can afford seismics). WoT is only 6-700 k in the G.E. and Ahrims book is ~8 mil. Get those for maging when you can. For range get a royal crossbow. Its cheap, its worth learning the QBD mechanics for bossing/money making later, and its only microscopically worse than dw ccbows. It's worth getting drygores as soon as you have the stats/cash for them. You should always be farming herbs for cash inbetween tasks if the herbs are done growing. I've leveled from 62-88 farming exclusively from herbs and it was well worth it. I literally have never worried or been "strapped" for cash sans the highest level equipment that I needed to buy which required some bossing to get. If you need help as far as what tasks to block/cancel we'd need to know what master you're using.
