cowmaster187
So i am looking to find out what the rate is for reward points per hour at the rune span with 99 rc assuming double soul island harvesting nodes that pop up. thank ya ~~~legoman187~~~ Clicky siggy for blogThanks Pendonub for fancy new sigThieving guide[WIP]Loyal player since May 2005 and member since November 2005 and Tifer for many years~~~legoman187~~~
Sy_Accursed
Creatures are faster for points than nodes - they give less xp than nodes but are faster runes and runes = points. If you are purely after points you should ignore the nodes and focus entirely on the 2 soul esswraiths. I'm not sure on exact rates, but having been dipping in and out for comp trim req and rc rocks I wanna say its around 1k an hour. Though it could be higher, I've not exactly kept track of time vs points. I checked it when I was at span getting 90 and if I remember correctly you have a node siphon chance every 2 ticks vs either 3 or 4 ticks per siphon at creatures. Its so much faster that its worth doing nodes all the way down to fleshy growths. If you're after getting rank 1 esteem by 99 this might be worth doing because you get more points per exp but it is definitely not better pts/hr to do just creatures. Hedgehog
Staying on one island is stupid. It's like 30-40k less xp/hour and points don't really matter that much. You might save an hour getting esteem 1, but you'll lose a dozen hours in xp.

Sy_Accursed
Well he was asking specifically about points and I've found in all my time at runespan creatures give far faster points than nodes. Yes lower nodes the faster chance of runes with added success rates produces faster runes, but lower runes are also worth less points to the point that you end up getting slower points overall. Whilst soul and death/soul nodes aren't higher enough success rates to give runes as reliably as creatures. If you are in it for the xp certainly chasing nodes is the best bet, but some how I think the main focus of someone with a sig about comp cape, 99 rc and asking about runespan points specifically isn't the xp/hr it is the points themselves. You might save an hour getting esteem 1, but you'll lose a dozen hours in xp.Trimming doesn't require xp, so that's not relevant to the question. The yellow wizard only costs points, that's definitely a bad idea. I recall the points/h was about 2000, when focusing on points, though it may be an optimistic estimate. Hedgehog
What do you plan to do when you finish trimming? If you plan to quit or dance in the ge after, sure, completely ignore xp. Otherwise, don't shoot yourself in the foot.
